"Wow, sounds complex. what do you mean by dark magic?" Emerald tilts his head to the side quizzically "Is it like evil magic or something?" He points with his hoof to the book, you notice some scars on his leg and scuffs on his hooves "and what is shadow magic?"

"Well I call it shadow magic because it has to do with dark matter but its nothing too serious. But um are you OK?" she inspected his leg

Emerald smiles" Dont worry about these, I have had them for years. I fly really low to the ground and as a result I crash... a lot..." he quiets down " I'm afraid of heights." he looks at the ground with his ears tucked.

"Quite strange for a pegasus."

"I know. but I make the most of my limitations" Emerald smiles. "So what do you mean by dark matter? is it made or do you harvest it?"

"I'm not sure. When I was working and practicing with it just seems to appear."

"Sounds really confusing." Emerald looks around taking in what ever there is to see " I'm from Ponyville, well the outskirts of ponyville really, and I only really come to Canterlot for the lantern fuel. it lasts WAAAAAY longer, it has something to do with how its made or something. My job depends on this little green guy here." Emerald jingles the lantern once more.

"I love living here. I don't really find must interest in small towns like Ponyville. Its not bad by any means, I visit once in a while." she put the book back. "What is your job that you need a lantern?"

"Since ponyville is in such close proximity to the Everfree forest, ponies are bound to get lost in there. so when I am needed I go searching for them. I also act as a sort of guide through the Everfree as well. most ponies are worried about the creatures that lurk in there but with this nothing bothers me or those with me." Emeralds eyes go wide realizing that Script chime lives here "Have you met the Princesses?"

"No. Sadly not but its my dream to."

"I would love to meet Luna." We make it to the shop that sells the lantern fuel "Well here we are, The Midnight Oil." We go in and walk up the counter and see a middle aged stallion. Emerald says "I would like two bottles of lantern oil please." The sales pony says "That will be 30 bits please" Emerald counts out the bits and pays, taking a moment to empty one of the bottles into the lantern. Emerald turns to Script Chime"Would you like to go to get something to eat, Im kinda hungry. it will be my way of saying thank you for walking with me." Emerald Smiles "And I have never been to a restaurant here in Canterlot."

"Absolutely!" she said smiling

"Do you know anywhere that is good?"

"Hm...there is a good sandwich place."

"Sounds good to me, lead the way" Emerald smiles
