Tonight was the night! Aurora had spent nearly half a year preparing for this year's Nightmare Night. She spent the final moments of daylight touching up her costume. Since she was a bat pone, she decided it would be best to be one of the stereotypes, a vampire bat! Aurora's mane and tail were frazzled and she had her fangs covered by dull fake ones. Carrying two totally spoopy saddlebags at her sides, she set off towards the carnival in search of candy.
*This was it! Pinkie had finally gotten a potion from Zecora that would keep her from transforming at night. She'd taken it beforehand, and slipped into her jester costume. She was bursting with excitement! This would be the first time in forever she could go out at night and be aware of what was going on, and without causing any... pain to others. She zipped out into the night, eyes widened at how beautiful it was! It'd been so long since she'd seen the beautiful night sky! With said carnival in full swing, she was even more excited! So excited she could barely stand it, she raced over to the festivities, and to have fun with her friends! She felt tears welling up in her eyes. Happy tears of course! She ate yummy food, participated in the games, and just enjoyed herself without having to worry about anything. She felt so at peace, just having fun. It was wonderful~*

He walks next to his wife, eyeing everything curiously, the decorations the costumes and really taking in the atmosphere. The town had completely transformed into something else. They don't do this where he comes from, so it's a totally new experience for him, the first he's had in awhile. He turns to Abby and smiles. "You look nice." He says from underneath his own costume... a white sheet he'd bought earlier and cut eye holes in it. It's made for a normal pony sized bed so his hooves still stick out from underneath it a bit.

Of course, along with the lights, frights, and colts in filly tights, there had to be treats. And Basalt was going to find them. A stallion on a mission, his eyeballs were liberally applied to each and every single food booth, for their succulent morsels shall be sampled: no popcorn left on stick, no cotton candy left twirling in the wind, no caramel apple left not stuck to teeth, and, perhaps most importantly, no funnel cake left ungobbled.
