Well think of it this way. If they don't win, all of the cartoon universe is doomed and Herbert will plunge everything into darkness. They have to win. Its their's and your home.
Also, they already lost as soon as Herbert took over the USF Base. Once he took that over, he used the network to take over every single cartoon world.
