That was sooo early 2000s. Just a quicker way to change tabs on her computer. She was browing around game forums. The game of the decade -- hell probably the century released today. Poppyfield Online. A Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online First Person Shooter Role Playing Game (VRMMOFPSRPG, for lack of a shorter way to put it) all focused around one thing. One thing that had been surging in popularity due to the anticipation for the game. Guns. The beta was easily one of the best experiences of her life, so far. Players started out with guns from the first world war, and worked their way down a giant, floating steel cube, 200 layers thick. Why not up? Well. Devs apparnetly figured that would be too much like a certain show that had gotten quite popular back in the early 2000s. A similar premise, but a fantasy game, supposedly. Pfft what's next it the company CEO the final boss? A small notification popped up in the corner of her screen -- a message notification. Clicking it, a mobile style text window would open. ======================================= [Sol Noctis] [11:56 AM] - Yo, not gonna be able to make it in. College expenses were just that barest bit too high. A mare's gotta eat, after all. ======================================= Stitches would sigh. She'd seen that coming. Stitches had run the Beta Test. She knew how hard it was gonna be to just... wait for the several months it would take for her to pay off those stupid loans! That's why Stitches opted for the much more stable custom PC business. A grin upon her sharky muzzle, she turned her attention back to a live news stream playing out. "... And here at one of many game stores, the place is just packed! The line loops around three blocks! There are several stores already sold out all across Equestria. This is set to be an excellent opening day! I can't wait to get home and --" Stitches cuts off the stream, seeing the time. 11:59 AM. Exactly a minute away from the official opening of the servers. Several places among the country had been quite understanding of the whole spectacle, and quite surprisingly, after taking a quick survey of who was obtaining the game (multiple companies, including many of the higher ranking businessmen, were even invested in the event), had decided.. Screw it, just let them enjoy opening day, and double down on the next work day after. After setting up her VR system, a complicated piece of headwear named the 'Dreamscape Mk 5', she would lay herself down across her bed. Laying flat on her back was... awkward, what with her shark-equine hybrid nature... But once she was logged in, it wouldn't matter. She wouldn't feel it anymore. Looking at the blinking digital clock in her upper left vision, she'd smirk. Just turned to 12:00. She closes her eyes, calming herself, and clearing her mind, somewhat. enough to allow the... very, very complicated tech interface with her neural network. Her black vision soon turned white, and a field of colors rushed towards her, a painfully high pitched ringing sounding. She'd then be faced with a log-in screen, her mind quickly running through the options. [Username] [Stitches] [Password] [**************] [Language] [Equish] [Accept?] [{Yes}] [No] [Use Beta Test character?] [{Yes}] [No] Her vision then swims with a blue rush, that fades to black. The sound of her heartbeat, and her breathing fills her ears, as she opens her eyes. Her field of vision is filled with... Grey. various shades of grey, and muted colors, accented with bright holographics. The structures all around were a sort of pre-Art-Deco design, the very prominent structure in front of her known as the Regent's Office -- The respawn point in the Beta. Looking down, she brings up her hands, clad in white handwraps. She clenches her fist looking up. Poppyfield Online. After taking a moment to regain her senses, she opted to skip the tutorial. she'd been through it enough, she remembered everything about the beta. Instead, the first thing she did? She started strolling off to her west -- towards Market Row.
