View MoreA soft bell chimed overhead as the door to a local tavern swung open, a cloaked figure making their way through the doorframe. The wooden door swung shut behind them, the soft groan of its hinges being followed by the sound of boots stepping down the steps that led up to the entrance, stepping down onto the stone pathway leading out onto the main stretch of road. A days work concluded and a belly full with a warm, satisfying meal. Far better than anything he could certainly cook up himself as his area of expertise didnâ€™t stretch to the culinary world, although it merely made him appreciate it all the more. Now, he merely wished to rest, his tired legs beginning to carry him down the road and towards the nearest exit to town. His ears pricked at the sound of commotion ahead around the gentle bend of the road, followed by a noise of pain or discomfort. His brow would knit gently, curiosity beginning to gnaw at him as his pace slightly quickened, making his way around the bend and finally into sight where he made out the truthfully quite unfortunate scene. Everything in him begged, practically /screamed/ to just keep walking. Not his problem, theyâ€™d figure it out and be fineâ€¦ With a sigh, he continued forward. He approached silently at first, striding forward towards the stranger in distress with a calm aura, dangerously so. His golden cat eyes focused ahead, glancing from the stranger to the scattered books around. His medallion swayed with each step he took, subtly beginning to twitch on its chain as if coming to life. Heâ€™d stop when he got close enough, one of those magical books at his hooves. Heâ€™d reach down and curiously pick it up, glancing down at the page it had opened upon. His golden eyes scanned it, trying to make sense of whatever may be scribbled inside but truthfully he was far from some kind of mage or sorcerer. â€œI thought I was in rough shape.â€ He remarked, glancing towards the stranger with a flick of his gaze up and down. The cloak he wore was torn, bloodied, yet he still stood strong with his sword strapped to his side. Hard to tell if the blood was his own or if it belonged to another. â€œDonâ€™t cry.â€ He sarcastically said, almost teasingly so as he flipped the book shut, using a hoof to brush away a bit of grime that had stuck to its cover. â€œYour precious books will be okay.â€ The witcher began to collect some of them, stacking them neatly beneath an arm before his eyes bored into the stranger, detecting the pain written across their face. â€œâ€¦but are you?â€ As the words left his mouth his golden gaze would shift, focusing on the leg hovering over the ground.
