Crunchyroll struck down a 60 frames/second conversion of an anime OP that's been on an alternate channel of mine for like a year
Could they be polite enough to just block the video instead of being strike addicted? Probably half of every strike I've ever received was from Crunchyroll
I know clip uploading is in a gray area and I set myself a 2 minute clip because I think that's a fair length without getting too close to stealing territory. I hate when shows get worldwide copyright blocked because that's what copyright holders want on YT, and I comply without complaint
But could they at least be polite enough to block a video without striking? Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc. did that to me once and that was much nicer. That was the only time I've had a video removed way after upload without getting struck
"Fans can't upload clips of shows we have rights to. We want a monopoly of clip uploading on YT. Word of mouth marketing doesn't exist!" -Crunchyroll
Fans uploading clips is free advertising for the studios and, less directly, the streamers. They're free samples for weebs to low investment try a few shows and see if they might like them enough to watch the whole things
Inb4 an entire channel of mine gets suspended
The ideal compromise, in my opinion, is copyright holders could set restrictions on clips. They can be set to time limits like at most 100 seconds without getting blocked, monetization disabled, copyright holder takes all of the monetization, or it gets blocked in certain countries. Usually, anime gets region blocked only in Japan which is convenient for the rest of the world. Just do anything except put channels at risk of suspension with strikes. Even getting worldwide blocked is better. That's the only thing I'm complaining about

It usually doesn't work well. Anime runs at up to 24 frames/second and 60 frames/second conversion basically creates 1 or 2 new frames based on their surrounding frames. They're not at all as clean as original frames. Some like it, most hate it. The only thing I've seen that greatly improves from fr... View More

No the real problem with the framerate deals is that anime is keyframed at anywhere between 3-12 FPS, sometimes 24 in an action scene if the anime had any sort of budget (or 30 on super cool anime, uwu), and they create their keyframes with those limitations in mind. Rendering the video in a higher ... View More

We live in a society where Hulu is a better anime streaming service than a dedicated one. Also we live in a society

Blocking = you're not allowed to have that video Striking = you're not allowed to have that video and if you collect 3 unexpired strikes, no channel for you
