Reid would be waltzing the streets of Manhattan as he was done meeting the Genius family. The mother of the house was very funny. He would make his move from the house and down the street. Nighttime made the city so beautiful as he could see how many enjoy it. Yet his nice stroll would lead him to a very odd encounter.
A small diamond dog was sitting with their knees to their face. A child it seemed. The uniqueness of this kid was their costume. An interesting attire for the time of year. He would slowly approach the child who was seemingly hiding from something in an alleyway.
The child wore what looked like a dog costume. Oddly enough the costume was dirty, patchy and smelly. The alley being more so about the same. Reid would slowly approach as the girls would quickly retract as she was cornered against the dumpster she hid next to. She would fumble what looked like a dirty makeshift knife.
Reid was shocked. He noticed she would shake as she held the knife to him. Reid would clear his throat as he would sit. He would hold his front hooves up as he said. "I come in peace." He had an idea by grabbing something from his bag. A pink bunny he had kept that one fella gave him.
He would show them the bunny as he would shake with a laugh. "Let's trade! You hand over the knife and I'll give you this gift." He would nod. The dog would look at the bunny and then at him. They would slowly move towards Reid. They would touch the soft doll as the dog dropped the knife.
Reid would slide the makeshift knife which was made with careful craftsmanship. Reid had sat next to the dog who retreated back in their corner. He looked over as he asked. "I love your costume. You make it?" The dog nodded and said. "Ahuh. Made it today." The dog was a boyish sounding dog. However, he couldn't be sure.
Reid gave a surprised look. "Whooa! Talented! I have a daughter who is very talented like that too." The dog looked up at him. He had two big pretty yellow eyes. He asked Reid. "Why do you wear a mask, mister?" Reid would awkwardly laugh. "Well... I'm ugly." He gave another laugh. The dog would give big shocked eyes.
The dog looked at their doll and said. "My name is Sulfer. I don't like to be called that though." Reid nodded and said. "How about I give you a name!?" He laughed as he jest. The dog would pull on his doctors coat.
The dog gave a desperate look as Reid would adjust his head to him. "I see... Well... I'll name you." He pondered for a moment as he then said. "Lil Gehenna. You are unique, crafty and talented. A small defender but you have heart. How is that?" He would say proudly.
The dog would be desperate for any form of person. Anyone. This stranger was the kindness he felt in years. Reid's parental instincts started kicking in. The dog was hurt. Nearly beaten to a pulp. His uncertainty in life. He knowledge to defend himself against anyone.
Reid would reach around to slide his mask off. He showed his disturbed face. He would give a genuine smile at the dog. "My name is Doctor. Thana Reid. I'll help you, Gehenna." This would move the dog as Reid would bring him to his hospital. He would put the dog on his back and said. "You're safe now."
