Friendship Letters
Categories
This is a quote by Darren Cuffs. I don't claim any part of this as my own, as it was all his. so thank him, not me for this wonderful literature he has blessed upon us.
Being the loser so someone else can have the spot light is healthy. It keeps your OC in check and doesn't let them become any thing else other than what they are; imperfect.
You can't make an OC that can win every hand of poker. You can't make an OC that wins every battle. You can't make an OC that conquers every conflict. Darren has been shot, stabbed, beaten to a pulp, all in the name of him being imperfect.
What the point is, regardless of backstory, regardless of canon, regardless of this or that, your OC HAS to have some imperfections. Darren has plenty himself. it makes them real and have depth. If you don't show depth or any sort of imperfection, you will subconsciously put into your mind that you HAVE to win everything, which is unhealthy. Let your OC lose every now and then. Like Knight did. He used depth and development of his OC to back down to Darren simply doing his job, because he used said depth to IDENTIFY with Darren. It's a matter of good story telling, character development, and self placement. If it was possible to RP with robots, then yeah, go for it! Make your OC unbeatable in every regard. But keep in mind, with every message, every post, and every icon, there is another person, just trying to have fun also.

It’s a dumb idea but I’m just wanting to do it for fun. I try to make sure I give her weakness to make her be able to beat. Sh... View More

//I got like the first part down which is the prologue but the main story I still needing the heroes names
this is true, however i will say that fights that occur in a backstory that the char loses, arent exactly a way to avoid being op. if your char can escape every fight scene with little to no injuries while completely obliterating, or doing significant damage to the opponent, that is op. this can ha...
