I could offer we try something a bit less complex, using simpler rules and more straight forward/rast character creation yet perhaps more engaging as well in working out everyone's history. From this starting point, we could see later if the players wish to advance theor characters to D&D 5e or Pathfinder. Anyone wish to join me on Skype? ---------------------- EquestrianScholar would like to chat with you on Skype. It’s free! https://join.skype.com/P9kjhra2Offj
Hmm, not necessarily. There is the chance that if needs be I could have two groups, one here and one on Discord. If you are willing though, I'd be more then happy to help you create a Discord account. Also, we could try something of a "monster of the week" setup, though perhaps also one overarching threat or villain. Perhaps though working up to them, and even having the monsters of the week connected to them.

Name: Gold Hoarder Race: Earth Pony Sex: Stallion Age: 57 Occupation: pirate Appearance: an old, light brown stallion, with an eye patch on his right eye, a multi-functional hook on his right front hoof and a left hind peg leg. he may be old, but still maintain a certain physic thanks to his life on the sea. he's bald, but possess a long, gray pair of sideburns, and his tail is cut short. His eyes are emerald colored. His most notable attire is a gray plumed hat with a large visor, a red and gold coat almost always closed at the height of his whist with a red scarf, a brown, shorter jacket underneath it and a gray, old styled necktie. He always take with him a set of attachable objects (from a hook to a shovel or a saber ) that he may use with his right hoof. Cutie Mark (If applicable): Personality: Once in the past merely a simple ship's colt, ol'Gold Hoarder is one of the greediest, ranting pirate out there in the seas of Equestria. mostly a drunkard and a crafty mareinizer, his greatest love is gold, no matter of who or in what amount, Gold Hoarder would do anything to get it. Is greed, however, costed him much: his old crew, a leg and an eye, and this event left him scared of certain things, like screeching sounds or octopuses... Background: Son of Jewel Hoarder, a Jeweler, and Gold Trim, a seamstress, Gold Hoarder is the second of 4, and the troublemaker of the family, along with his brother Silver Hoof. In his youth, his father tried to make him a good assistant, but after 3 years stopped, after a good part of his jewels where mysteriously disappeared, and so his mother decided to put Gold Hoarder's greedy butt onto his grand-father's sloop. The first days where hard, and made him almost regret everything he did, but after Hoarder and his grand-father docked onto a small island for getting some supplies, the young stallion started to smell... something. After a while, he found, under a lot of sand, a giant, old chest trimmed in gold, opening it finding also the source of that delightful smell: thousands of golden coins, and jewels and finely carved ivory tusks. And then, he got his cutie mark. As the years passed, the more his love for gold and the sea got bigger and bigger, and lately in his youth, at the age of 28, he became a pirate and captains too, and for a long, long time, the stallion got his greedy hooves onto mountains of gold, but unfortunately, one day he forget thanks to grog, all of his treasures, crew and his own ship, the Fortune Gatherer, sank in the middle of the sea, due to a monstrous creature from the deepest abyss underneath the salty waters. And from that terrible encounter, he loosed a leg, half of his right hoof, an eye and a lot of his old courage. But now, he's ready to get onto undiscovered shores, maybe with a new crew, and get his old honor back !

.Post in Equestria: Age of Adventure
Name: Astéri Race: Alternative Earth Pony Sex: Female Age: 18/19 Occupation: Monk/Mercenary/Freelance Adventurer Appearance: Her coat is a pale blue colour, her mane a deep, dark aqua that is short and choppy, and poofs upward. 2 Braids pulled back. Her hooves are a dark lavender, and her eyes a dark bluish purple. She is somewhat taller and leaner then other Earth Ponies.. Her Ears are slightly larger, as well as her hind legs/hooves. Her shoulders and chest slightly more pronounced. Her marking, The North Star, is found on her shoulder. Her tail extends slightly longer, The non hair portion. Cutie Mark: The North Star Personality: Her most common aspect will be casual, a sassy countenance with a hard confidence in herself. Not to be mistaken as Hubris but a confidence that she will be able to stand up to whatever stands in her way, even if that means she will fail, over and over again. Her biggest fear is not of failure, or even death, but that she will one day lose faith in herself, in those around her, and the world itself. During battle, her sassy countenance does not waver, continuing in a smirking grimace of the thrill and adrenaline rush of battle. (Adrenaline Junky) She really, really, really hates boredom, boring situations, or sitting still for long periods of time. Background: She was raised in confinement. Not in a jail or in a cage. In a valley. A small valley with mountains at all sides. The rocks too steep to climb, and the only exits guarded by the soldiers of a vengeful figurehead, who had some horrific, long lasting grudge on some long dead secondary figure head living there, and wished to bring pain upon the descendants of him and his followers. She itched for a way out as she grew, and trained with the monks at the temple, hewn into the mountain rocks. Learning how to fight without need of weapons, and with a few of the simpler ones. It was her way of scratching that itch, dampening it so she wouldn’t lash out and get into trouble. Although, of course, she did, finding herself and others with bruises and scratches. At 16, her name day, she chose Astéri, which meant Star. It was her quiet way of promising herself she was guide herself out of that hole. Hoping to be the guiding light of her home, and find her way in this world. It was also the day she gained her Marking, the North Star. A note, of this mark. The ponies of this place were slightly different, where they gained this mark in the region of the shoulder, the shoulder blade, or the Lower neck. Perhaps a magical effect of this place, or its past. At 17 and 6 moons(months), she finally made the escape. In the night, she dressed in dark cloth and cloaking, with bare items with her. It would not due to be heavy. She went with 3 others. 3 other disciples. To her knowledge, she was the only one to escape, and refuses to speak of that bloody night. An alarm had gone off, and placed it all under an even higher level of surveillance, Cutting her off from entering again, without a whole lot of help. She would not be returning, and it was, and is, one of her greatest regrets. She would find the outside world fascinating and dangerous. Filled with ponies and creatures of different types. She had never expected it to be like this. Dragons, Giant dogs, wooden wolves, tiny sprites, merfolk, and ponies with horns and wings aplenty, and those with horns able to do magic beyond her wildest dreams. And two, no, 3 Mares, princesses who attained both wings and horns! Slowly she would adjust (And still is adjusting), and after a year and another few moons, she had found a decent way of life. Adventuring. Exploring. And beating the heck out of other horses for Bits, the currency in this world apparently. Another interesting aspect, and more lovely things to discover! However, she still has much to learn of this place. Note: Where she used to live was nestled into the mountains southeast of the smokey mountains, located in the undiscovered west. The town/village was known to those Inside, and the very few who knew of its existence outside, as Easthallow Village. She has access to a few minor healing abilities, used to enhance salves and medical stuff a bit. She can do thata few times a day, as well as the knowledge of carving minor runic enhancements into weapons or tools during forging. That would take much, much longer to do. For centuries, Equestria has stood as one of the most prosperous nations in the known world. In spite of the hardships that threatened to break the nation apart long ago, ponykind has managed to band together to form a strong nation under the joint rule of the cosmic Princesses. That is not, however, to say that the nation has had its fair share of threats. History has told us of Nightmare Moon, of Discord and Tirek, of the mad Storm King and his legion. History has told us of the once-great changeling swarm, of the proud dragons, of the nomadic zebras and stubborn yaks. For the past few years, a group of six friends have stood as Equestria's greatest heroes. Time after time they have been called upon to quiet threats of dissent, of the deconstruction of harmony, to combat threats to the crown, and to defend friendships. While historians may argue that the last point may be somewhat out there compared to the gravity of the other three, it is truthfully the most important of them all, as without the magic of friendship and harmony, it is believed that Equestria could have been lost to the frozen wastes before its founding. But what of the rest of Equestria? Yes, everypony knows of the adventures of Twilight Sparkle, her friends, and the Elements of Harmony. But theirs are not the only stories to be told. Legends of Equestria is a roleplay that takes place during the events of FiM, rather than as a continuation. My intent is for this page to be something of a hub for multiple roleplays, all of which take place in different locations within Equestria (the idea behind this is trying to mitigate any sort of contrivance for why ponies would be in a specific location or would be friends with other ponies). Establish your own OC, take them on adventures in a certain location or neighboring areas. Use the variable location as an excuse to experiment with new character ideas. Go on daring adventures, or solve interpersonal relations at home. Be creative. Most importantly, what matters is that you all have fun. Legends of Equestria is meant to accommodate players looking for any sort of play, so if you're worried that your character may be too violent or stay-at-home for the available adventures, you don't have to worry, because there's a good chance there'll be a play coming soon just for you.
