Want to RP with Verdant/Aldrasion, but I'm afraid people might think he's a combat focused character. He isn't. His magic only gets to dangerous levels once every two or three weeks, and the corruption of his dark magic is mostly just something he's immensely scared of, rather than an actual viable threat. Mainly due to the level of control over his own mind that he was taught. Take a massively traumatic event- like the destruction of his hometown, Sapien Draconica- to break that wall of control and let the dark magic take over. He dosen't really like fighting, and aside from his magic, he isn't very good at it. His armor /is/ quite good, but... Well, thats the only physical advantage towards him in a fight. He has his sword/whatever but he isn't very good with blades, just having it for the intimidation factor. Plus as a handy food source for any magic-eater dragons he encounters.
In short, he hates having to kill things. He dosen't like having to fight things, most of the time. He isn't very powerful normally when he /does/ fight things. Very little chance for him to turn evil. /As with all of my characters, he is meant for an RP with a main focus on non-combat situations/. Hopefully this isn't needed, and you are thinking of him as he is meant to be thought of, but if not, here is my intention with him.)

"I-I'm sorry, Az, I... I never meant to lead those dragon hunters to us... T-they said they had a way for our town to hide better... They... I was so... I was such an idiot... I shouldn't have listened to them... But... But they, everyone said I could trust them..." he pauses for a minute, wiping a tear off his face, "I shouldn't have broken the rules and left town myself... I... Anyway, they told me to take them to see the people with the most power in our town... I remember everyone being so happy that they didn't have to be as careful anymore... I wish I knew what was going to happen to them all then, maybe I could have done something..."
He looks around, checking to see if anyone else was listening, seeing no one- not even you, if you were already there, listening- he turns back to the scale.
"I r-remember exactly what aspect of my darkness you were teaching me that day... Shadow portals, would be great right about now if you had finished teaching me... I could portal myself to a high enough place... Maybe the danger that I am to everyone in this world would end with me... Anyway, I remember you were just about to demonstrate it when we saw the first flames over near the town... The fire dragons that lived in Sapien Draconica with us... Brave, but their bravery meant none were left when we got there... Not that it would have mattered anyway, I didn't manage to save any of them, no matter the kind..."
He stops for a moment before continuing quieter, his head hanging lower, "I remember seeing my parents... Yelling turned to screams as they fell second to last... That was when they saw us, I think... Would have taken the fatal slice myself if it had meant you could have lived... Wasn't able to get to you in time... I'm... I'm so, so very sorry, Az... You were always the better of us two... I... You taught me how to control my darkness..." He pauses, closing his eyes, "And then after your death, I gave into it nearly immediatelly... I... Even with what they did, how many they murdered... I don't think those hunters deserved what I gave to them... No one would have... That scar on my neck they gave me... Nowhere near enough of a punishment for what I did to them..."
"And then, I even failed your last request, to use what you taught me to save everyone I could... I... Xvia... I could have been more cautious, more aware, but now... Now she's serving an eldritch death sentence for something in her past, releasing a sealed old god, despite her only wanting to help people... Once told me that the reason she isn't a hero is because she always runs and hides when the danger comes... After saving me from a magiconstruct I would never have been able to defeat on my own... At least not before my own death... And now... Now I'm in an entirely different world, and Xvia is probably dead..."
"I'm... I can never say this enough, even if I said it for the rest of the eternity of all the worlds, but... I'm sorry... For everything I did, everything I've done, and everything I am likely to fail at in the future... I am so... So very sorry, Az... Teacher... I..." he pauses, collecting his thoughts, looking to the horizon, "I really wish you were still here right now... Could use a bit of guidance... And a friend from my early years, in this new world." As he finishes, he hears something, turning and seeing you there.
"Did... How much of that were you there for?" he asks, putting the scale by his side again, as usual.
Verdant looked at you with glowing black swirling throughout his eyes, smiling insanely. In a much more... Evil and insane, voice than usual, he says to you, "Ohhh... This will be so, much, fun!"

Meanwhile, locked in the back of his mind, his normal conciousness was thinking, 'Can someone please knock me out so I don't end up murdering half of Equestria? That'd be nice, thanks.'

He may have finally learned how to walk again, but sword combat was an entirely different story, having to only use his magic to hold it was strange still. "Anyone want to duel me? No serious injuries, first one to surrender wins? I need to practice with my blade."

(The lyrics of this altered to fit Verdant, I think it fits him pretty well too.)

Verdant can be seen sitting on the ground with the scale he is always with levitated in front of him, talking to it. There is also an aura of magic- eldritch, dark, and draconic- around it. Visibly.

When he finds one, he proceeds to pour it out into a green and black beam fired at the mountain. Once the dust over there cleared, it was visible that there was no more mountain.
This is typical for him. Fortunately, overloads only come every few days.
(I kind of want to reply to something with Verdant. However, the big problem with that is the fact that I don't see anything that it makes sense for me to reply to with him... Damn it.)

If you want to interact with him in this moment, feel free to. I don't plan on making this backstory, rather just a thing to introduce my newest hasn't-always-been-a-pony pony character.)
In the middle of a field outside of Ponyville, a voice could be heard slowly gaining volume, as if approaching, a very faint dark purple glow slowly getting brighter.
"Xvia, I'm not leaving you alone in this until your safe, I don't matter."
"No, I'm not leaving. I know you think that all of this is your fault, but its not... I know you don't want anyone else to get hurt for what you did, but I'm not letting them sentence you to death, however they go about that in the eldritch dimensions, for something you did in ignorance of the scope of the consequences. Yes, you unleashed an old god, yes, you knew what you were doing, but did you how many it could have killed when you did it? No. Absence of intent is innocence in my opinion."
"Xvia... I really don't want to let you die for it..."
"What are you doing? Xv- oh... God-fucking-damn it Xvia..."
And at that point, the glow erupted into a portal- one made by someone clearly unexperienced in such things- and a human in almost liquid looking black armor with purple glowing runes on it in places and vibrant green lines running through it and writing in draconic where the heart is covered, a black dragon scale with deep purple and vibrant green flowing through it attached to his hip by a vibrant green chain. His eyes glowing a bright vibrant green- not just the irises, the eyes in their entirety- with the amount of dark magic being produced within him.
A fusion reactors worth of dark magic.
As he was pulled through the portal, his form changed. Feet changing to hooves, arms to forelegs, hands to hooves, you know where its going, don't need to keep describing these changes to you. His armor dissipated, chain with it. The scale stayed, but tumbeled along the ground into the grass nearby. As he tried to get up, he fell back down, noticing his new form as he fell. And to this, he had but one thing to say.
"Well this is just fucking great..."
And then he began searching for the scale, not getting up due to not knowing how yet.
