I add people to my group of friends as I would like to be part of this community. Shout out to 'Princess Corona' for this amazing website. I love to see what people upload. Their own creative things on their wall or see their great artwork. I do not necessarily think that I want to roleplay with every single person on the website or every single person wishes to roleplay with me, but that I would like more friends. The reason is so that I can build a larger community and be apart of this brony/pegasister world that we all love and enjoy. There are some people who seem a little 'harsh' in their messages to me. My questions are: 1. Isn't Canterlot Avenue a community where you can build more Brony contacts and share everything you love such as roleplays, artwork, music, the love for the show? To do that and see what other people put up, you got to be friends with them. How can it be that people get frustrated that I just simply want to see what they upload? 2. How can it be that people are upset about me sending a friend request despite not writing to them first? Is sending a friend request not enough indication that you want a community with the person and seeing their creative sides? Also, as I could read on this website it's about establishing friendship and connections. How can it be that some people give you the cold shoulder when trying to reach out and get more connections or 'friends'. You know... Friendship is magic I suppose the tale is ^^ 3. There are some of the pages who have 500+ friends, is it wrong? Some has expressed to me that having more than 100+ friends seems wrong. How can this be? I tried to ask these people and their explanation was that it's simply just wrong. There is nothing wrong with asking people why they add them, not at all, but saying it's wrong I have no idea why. My own thought is that some people feel like they don't want to be friends with people they don't know, but to be honest. Aren't we all just creatures from a show? None of us knows each other's real faces, genders or personalities. Shouldn't it just be about sharing this show we all love, does it really matter if we know the IRL person we are friends with? I already love this website and all the people who have commented on my posts etc. It's a beautiful website with so many creative souls out there. I know it may be a little naive. I accept that people have different values than me, but I do not fully understand. Will anyone be so sweet to explain it to me, because I haven't been on this website before. I really wish to understand and there is nothing wrong with these people at all. Maybe it's just me who misunderstand. Thank you and shout out again to Princess Corona. Thank you for establishing this website, thank you. I don't hope I offend anybody and I will remove the post if the founder wishes me to, it's simply just questions from a new friend from this website.

But it is wrong to add them just to bulk up your friend list number, which is the reason why they removed the whole popular user a while ago, and honestly I'm happy with it. Bout' time. I don't know how well you're going to take a little bit of finger snapping, but the brony fandom died several years ago, and with it, the whole Friendship is Magic motto everyone attempted to follow, including me, yes I was a brony who kept shoving the fandom towards my friends who really didn't wanted it, I regret it, that was super cringy, but one learns by time. Today is, I guess some bronies, but mostly we are people who just enjoys it from afar, the art, the music, I won't lie since I do spend a lot of time drawing cartoon pastel horses as it keeps me entertained a lot, plus I earn a buck or two in the process! Blame PS and the herd of people adding just to boost their numbers, when clearly had no intentions to interact with them in the first place. For new people it makes em excited to see that friend request only to find out they were added for nothing, and that's just heartbreaking. It was the main reason why RP started to fade as a whole, and everyone created circle of friends, those who will simply round up to talk / rp / share about the fandom, away from other circle of friends, many may disagree with me, or agree or whatever, but I really don't care what other people says in the slightest, we all grew quite thicker skin over the past 8 to 10 years. You have to understand, this is a RP site as well, so if you're adding you at least "have" to start RPing, or chatting, or send a message telling how pretty their OC is, you know, you're not gun-pointed to do any of that, but at least attempt it if you're adding new people. Because if it is, just to observe then you can also try the thousands of discord groups specifically art-related content that shows MLP artwork, music and writing, Deviantart groups, Facebook groups (As they're still alive surprisingly...) and so on, and on. I'm in at least 20 MLP discord groups, amazing communities and skilled peeps around the globe! Try that if RPing isn't your thing of course. But as it is, this site specifically is for RP.

Others and I do not see that as a problem and others seem alright with that. I have been a brony for about seven years and my thought on it is that the brony community is dead, when there are no more bronies or others who enjoy the fandom. There are bronies who still enjoy the show, the artwork and there is this website. That we agree on. I believe it's as dead as you make it or when you feel it's dead to you. Not to anybody else. (I never pushed any of my friends to watch it or like it). But I get what you mean by it. Most Brony Youtubers are no longer here and I suppose most Brony things are no longer being sold. I just believe you have to be in the right spot. All of this is in another topic since none of my questions were about this part: My questions were not about me not wanting to roleplay since I have been a roleplayer for the past seven years on different websites. I do have a question for you. How do they know it's nothing when they enter a community that is not Facebook. Why are they making it personal? In the rules, it does say roleplay site, art, music, etc. I am a roleplayer myself and a fairly good one. I have been roleplaying in all types of communities in the past six to seven years, so I know my share. So I do understand: "You have to understand, this is an RP site as well". "Because if it is, just to observe" I never stated I was here just to observe, I just asked people about why they reacted in the way they did. "But as it is, this site specifically is for RP." Not what I have been reading. On the 'Edit Profile' and in the 'I AM' it says: Gamer, Artist, Musician, Roleplayer or Techie. So, it's actually not specifically for RP, it's only 1 out of 5. Maybe that is what other people and I are doing here, but I do not believe that is what was attended for Princess Corona. And thank you for accepting, always nice with a discussion I suppose.

Thank you Google Chrome, very cool. Anyway, I'll try and say my points again but if they feel rushed, you'll know why. First of all, I'm really glad to hear you're enjoying the community! Wish we all could just go back in time and relive the golden years, that'd be fun. If you ever have a negative (or outright rude experience) with a user on here, just keep this in mind: They're just people. People will make mistakes, lash out on others, or have a completely different rationale that you aren't expecting and don't understand how they got there. I've had a few of those experiences myself, but I came out with thicker skin because of it. So don't worry if something happens, you'll get better. As for the friends thing, it's more of a stigma. L:Ike Silver and Seir were saying, it's just fine how you want to run your friends list and how many people you want to add onto there. My friends are a curated list of roleplayers that I've really enjoyed my time with. It's like a recommended list right from me. Lemon Breeze is my character for more "general friends." I may not have roleplayed with them, but I want to have them added on CA. I get the best of both worlds. (thanks CA) The tw main reasons for disliking a large friends list is because of the obvious A: It might make it feel like they might not really, 100% be involved with everyone. But you could clear that up by just asking them :D And B) Some users will just add anyone they see on the "New Characters" list, which could leave the new user feeling like they were used just to add to the popular user's numbers. It could lead to disenfranchisement or frustration(and there are different cases for both). Again, you could just clear this up by actually trying to engage with said users. Putting in effort gets you results! (Ok. Back to where I was before deletion) Roleplaying! I know you didn't ask about this, but don't lose your love of roleplaying Just because some people leave an RP an you doesn't mean you can heave fun despite that, and you shouldn't let that discourage you from the site or from your passtime/hobby/obsession. It's cheesy, but have fun!
