What in Equestria were you thinking, getting yourself wrapped up in this sort of mess?’ The disguised Changeling thought to herself as she sat in front of the brown Unicorn mare, listening to her speak. Her disguise was also a Unicorn mare, but she was graced with such a soft, light creamy coat that it was almost white. Her mane and tail were a vibrant orange, featuring three stripes of varying size in them; one very tiny, thin stripe of creamy yellow in between two very much thicker stripes of orange, the thick stripe on the right much lighter than the one on the left. The amount of mane and tail hair she had was absurd, to add. Although they seemed to be pulled back enough to where they wouldn’t drag upon the floor when she stood. Her mane was pulled back into a thick, loose bun that was clearly plopped upon her head with only a gold hair clip featuring a single sapphire on it holding it in place. A good few loose, curly chucks of mane poked out of her bun in various places as well, while her tail was pulled into a loose loop, pinned back by a golden barrette laced with five sapphires atop it. Her bright Cyan eyes kept focused on Branwen’s as she spoke, until she finally finished her introduction. “I’m Suncatcher Shimmer. You can call me Suncatcher or Sunny for short; whichever you like! I’m a traveling freelance artist!” She chimed sweetly, putting her hoof out in offer of a hoof-shake. All of this was fake, and the Changeling knew it. She wasn’t a Unicorn named Suncatcher Shimmer. She was a Changeling and a liar, if anything. Why did she think it was a good idea to try speed dating disguised, anyways?! ...Because she knew if she went as her regular Changeling self, no one would’ve given her a chance. They either would’ve attacked her for trying to ‘use this establishment to feed off of for free love’ or would run away screaming out of fear of what she was. ...This was stupid. ’You’re a moron, Spiracle. An idiot. An imbecile. A downright FOOL for thinking this would even remotely work!’ Even if she was disguised, anyone who decided to try and take their meeting outside of this establishment would eventually learn that she was a Changeling, and would leave her all the same for lying to them and for leading them on. This all was bound to fail. Why was she even bothering to try? This was utterly pointless. “It’s very nice to meet you!” Suncatcher would add in last minute, trying to ignore the voices in her head screaming how much of an idiot she was for even being here. Hopefully Branwen would say something soon; she didn’t know how much longer she could listen to their insults.

At least it was nice to have someone actually want to engage in conversation with her, even if she was disguised. “I’ve seen a good bit of the world, yes; all from my little caravan wagon though. It’s small, but it’s home.” She remarked pleasantly, lightly knocking the long strand of mane in her face out of the way. “I do all kinds of art! I primarily stick to just drawing, painting, and suncatcher making; but there are a few other arts I dabble in from time to time like clay sculpting, candle making, sewing, and simple jewelry making.” Well, at least Spiracle didn’t have to lie about her interests and occupation in the arts; that was a positive, in all of this. In all honesty, she hadn’t met too many artists herself, either! In fact, the only real closest artisans she had met on her journeys were chefs, cooks, and bakers, as well as those fancy, ritzy jewelry makers here in Canterlot. The work those jeweler made would certainly put her simple crafts to shame. They were nice to look at though; she’d never be able to afford them though… There was also that glass blower over in Manehattan; now his work was a sight to behold! All the strange, colorful sculptures and animal figures he’d make- ‘...Nevermind that, Spiracle.’ The Changeling spat at herself, internally. ’Pay attention. You got yourself in this mess, so you might as well play along. Even if you won’t get anything out of it. Change the subject; see if you can get her to start talking about herself.’ Hoping to change the subject, the orange-y mare crossed her hooves over one another, resting her chin upon them as her ear flickered. “Enough about me, though. What about you? You said you study magic, no? Did you ever attend Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns?” Even if Branwen were to say ‘no’ to her question about Celestia’s school, at least she’d be able to turn the conversation onto the mare’s studies in magic; something she could relate to, given both their race and Spiracle’s studies at the school.
