And, for the most par... View MoreThis would usually be quite a busy time of year for those in the medical industry. Lots of people going out and about meant lots of people getting into very strange predicaments. And, for the most part, that was still the same this year. However, things were busy for a completely different reason for Papillon. She'd nearly finished packing up her office in the hospital she'd been working at. Her once cluttered desk now held naught but a few more boxes. The bookshelves that lined the walls were completely empty. Papillon could, quite easily, drag these last few boxes out to the carriage, waiting outside. But, instead, she sat at her desk, for one final time. Sitting across from her, framed on either side by her things, was a rather large plush toy. A red panda, looking to be asleep. The shape of its body promised that it was meant to be laying flat on its stomach- probably as a hug pillow of sorts. Sitting on the desk in front of it was a card. 'Happy Hearth Warming' was written across the front in raised gold script. From behind her ear, she withdrew a pen, drumming it back and forth upon her desk, as she hummed, "I don't think I can bring you with me. But I know for certain, Yuri won't appreciate me sending him a gift. Couldn't he and I have just held it together for a little longer...?" The panda, of course, didn't respond. She scowled and threw the pen at it. it bounced harmlessly off its plush head, and bounded to the floor, "Don't look at me like that. I know that I'm at fault here. But I can't bring you with me! Just looking at you reminds me of him." She sniffled. Oh. That wasn't... expected. Another pen was pulled from one of the boxes, along with a sheet of paper. She'd scribble a note on it, before tucking it within the actual hearth warming card. Standing up, she'd lift the phone in her office. A moment later, a woman's voice came up- her ex secretary, 'Hello, Boss.' "Can you get someone to bring my things down to the wagon for me, Serendipity? I have something I need to take care of." Before anything could be replied to her request, she'd hang the phone up and stand to her full height. She tucked the card under her wing, and would place the stuffed animal on her back. Maybe she'd seen one too many hearth warmings movies with Yuri, if she actually thought this was a good idea.

Papillon might have been a busy mare, but she took the time to get to know him well enough to figure out that he’s a bit of a cuddlebug, this was truly a great gift, it did make him happy. However, his brief moment of peace was interrupted rather suddenly. “!!?!?” Something hit the wall next to him, it wasn’t something hard, but it startled him as he was supposed to be alone there. That… couldn’t have been Papillon’s voice, was it? It’s impossible, she wouldn’t come to see him at a time like this! Gray peeks nervously and—Watch out! Another snowball! He scurries out of the way, and it hits the door, several others would come but all missed him by far. She wasn’t even aiming at him; he knew she’d gotten him if it were what she wanted. By the time she comes into the light, he already had figured out that it was her. He was staring with his wide eyes as though he’d seen a ghost. Her beautiful face was just as he remembered her, with the sparkling tears streaming down her reddened cheeks. It was the same as when she had walked away weeks ago. Gray’s eyebrows furrow again “Papillon…?” he calls out, surprised to find her there but… There were more important matters at hand, skipping introductions is necessary. “Would that make it easier…?” Gray sighs. “I’ve tried, Papi. You did get me good, not gonna lie. That hurt like a bitch.” He mutters. “…But then again, I suppose that you got what you deserved by falling in love anyway, didn’t you? …You did something awful… don’t we all? I’ve used people before.” “… I’m sure that I’ll be used again… but I can’t say for sure that I’ll also be loved again the way you love me. Because you do, don’t you?” his stare softens lightly. “That’s what you get. And I’m sorry, I might be a fool, but it pays awful good and… I really regret not taking that second chance you offered… with the real us…” he sighs. “…For what it is worth… You hurt me but you also gave me the sincerest form of love that I’ve ever known, Papillon. You can’t ask me to hate you, maybe… think of it as a form of punishment.” He smiles cheekily for a brief moment, but his expression returns to that of concern. “Hey…It’s… cold out here. Would you like to come in? You must be freezing.”
