In the confusion at the lab, Sombra easily cornered Asteria Bleu. "Mystic's sister.. I'm surprised you eluded my memories for as long as you did. You know your place, your purpose." His eyes glowed and seemed to take up the space around them, his voice drowning out the sounds of chaos all around. "Join or die. That's what it comes down to in the end. You can join me or join your father. That choice is yours." He left the crystal pony to ruminate, taking in a deep breath as he felt the color drain from her, and just a bit more power return to him. "I don't think you need much more convincing, Mystic," he called out, not searching for her too hard. "It would be all too easy to level this building, with everypony here still inside. I'm giving you this chance to prove yourself useful. Don't be foolish."
She breathed in, covering her eyes with her hooves. The mare was breathing heavily, looking for her sister. Her pelt was gray, her color in her eyes almost all gone. “Marina...”
The spire shook and crumbled to the floor moments after Marina had passed through it, nothing more than a pile of crystal shards now. Sombra's eyes were reflected in them, a low laugh filling the air before eerie, cold silence took its place.
Upon her crossing, flam crawled as fast as he could to the crystal, however he was too late. "Marina!" He wailed, banging on the crystal in the hopes that she could hear him. "Marina! Please!" Please!" He exclaimed, tears touching his eyes as he continued pounding, and pounding on the crystal shards, hoping she could still hear him. "Marina!" He began to break down. He was a weak pony. He couldnt save her... he continued to call out her name, devolving into a frenzy of trying to look through each of the crystals to try to find her though very unseccessful. A few tears began to flow. He needed to find a way to save her... somehow. But alas, he was far too weak... his magic wasnt strong enough to save her. He looked around the lab, for anything that he could use to try and get her out, throwing manuscripts and books on the floor as he rummaged through the destroyed lab. He was frantic, and looked everywhere for the chance he could save them.
"You ponies did what you do best, ruining my old home." The space on the other side of the crystal was dark, vast, and utterly desolate. "My families of umbrum once lived here. The space on the other side of the crystal was dark, vast, and utterly desolate. "My families of umbrum once lived here. Hundreds of years on, and now only I remain." There was a genuine sense of hurt in his tone, though he stood stoic, facing away from them. "It's good to see you came to your senses. Really, I don't like hurting ponies. It would have pained me to have to.. Take further action." Low, unnaturally colored flames illuminated the large space, the closest structure being a large rock wall littered with wide holes, one larger one lit by more flames leading deeper into it. "Forgive the mess. My rightful place is currently out of my reach. Worry not, I won't be gone from it for long.. Their silly little crystal heart won't do a thing to me. Come." He walks ahead, not looking back as he enters the cavernous entrance. The silence as soon as he leaves is deafening, as not a creature stirs, not a rock crumbles or even wind blows; even the fires are silent here.
“Just follow my lead.” she whispered, and trotted in the direction Sombra went off in. it took some searching before they finally stumbled across a corridor which would hopefully lead to his study. “Sombra?” she called out.
She followed after her sister, eyes wide as she stood behind her bigger sister, wings flush against her flanks. She repeated what her sister said, albeit softer, waiting.
