View MoreAxiom wakes up for a minute, feeling a disturbance in the force. Did he forget foals exist again? He turns his head to the side and spots the filly looking at him. "Di-a-what?" he tries to repeat, trying to concentrate through the fog. "...oh diagnosis, okay..." His foggy mind struggles to put together how she got that idea. "Oh! I get it. That's a good one!" he laughs at what he assumes was a just a great pun, before gasping. "Oh shoot! I knew I should have waited until after I got some sleep to make any major decisions. Now everybody's going to think I've got some sort of disease. This. Won't. Do!" He levers himself to his feet and levitates out one of the 14 chalkboards from around his home, mounting it over the letters "ME" in his banner outside, then writing "ME: AXIOM CRASH, TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD" in decidedly smaller letters. He squints at it, rubbing his hoof to his chin. "I ... think that's better." He strolls back inside the party and nearly has a heart attack as he sees the filly in the same view as all the alcohol he has laid out everywhere. "Oh shoot, I did forget foals exist." He looks down at the pegasus filly, realizing he hasn't actually greeted her properly. "Oh yeah, thanks for the well-meaning yet personally horrifying congratulations. I'm Axiom Crash, paradox wizard-in ... self-training? I don't know. Starswirl always wanted to build out paradox theory more, but never had the time, so I hear, so that's many ponies out there that could teach me. Um. And who are you, little princess?" He bends down and smiles with a completely genuine smile. His horn lights up as in the background he hurriedly shifts the alcoholic drinks off to one side, and writes out a quick sign that says "adults only!" on it to put on the table, hoping that will be enough to solve it. There's plenty of other drinks, between seltzers, fruit juice, diet soda and ... there should have been coffee, dangit. Hopefully he didn't leave anything mixed in with the non-alcoholic drinks that shouldn't be there.

"Well, let's see, in my theories, there's nine fundamental paradoxes ... well I've documented hundreds more than that at this point, but anywho, there's things like the speed of light being slightly different in very specific directions, which it's not supposed to be, get the alignment exactly right, and you can get rays to arrive in the wrong order, thus, a paradox, where one set of laws says one thing should happen, but in practice, a different thing happens, and since the universe works largely off of entanglement and prediction based on the universal waveform, this causes a rippling discontinuity to propagate, like a stormfront, and it resolves as soon as an event occurs that is dependent upon the outcome of the initial event, at which point the universe can no longer ignore the anomaly and must decide one way or the other, the order in which the rays arrived." "Just an example, but in this case, we've split the universe in half, where one half has been acting as if the event went one way, and the other half has been acting as if it went a different way. Chaos theory dictates that these may actually look very different on the quantum scale, though perhaps not immediately apparent on the macro scale.
