It's about 11pm, and as you're walking down the street, you see an interesting sight from afar; A pegasus stallion of draft type, and a unicorn foal ; being approached by a wild, pure white unicorn. ... View MoreIt's about 11pm, and as you're walking down the street, you see an interesting sight from afar; A pegasus stallion of draft type, and a unicorn foal ; being approached by a wild, pure white unicorn. However, this wild unicorn has an aggressive grimace, pinned ears, LOW stance ; their tail is flickering like a light up and down, and the wild unicorn is snorting, slowly approaching them with their horn pointed towards the foal in particular. Between them is a bale of hay ; or what used to be a bale of hay ; it's practically degraded into dust at this point, but not burned.. eaten. It is scattered around as well as seemingly collected in small bags that used to be around both the stallion and foal; from the long-standing saddlebag marks across their waists. You manage gain some insight from the interaction ; the wild unicorn is accusing them of theft. That hay was meant for them, and it was left by the local townspeople to give them sustenance in the colder months. The wild unicorns defend the towns from threats in exchange for food. Young foals that have been born this year need their dams and broodmares to feed on this hay so they can produce high quality milk, and strangers competing for this food is an act of aggression. The stallion tries to reason that they understand; that him and his own foal only consume the hay out of their own survival, even moreso as the foal does not have their dam, but it does not matter to the herd's lead stallion. They have killed ponies before for doing such things regardless of the reason, and they are prepared to do so again. The pegasus stallion pushes the foal behind him, and starts to back up as the wild unicorn approaches them aggressively in a trot, bearing their half carnivorous teeth. Considering the fearful response of the stallion, who you think could have easily overtaken the wild unicorn ; their horn is long, curved, textured and sharp, moreso than any normal unicorn, and their body type is thin and light. They have sharp, solid cloven hooves which can be used as unexpected weapons as well. If the wild unicorn doesn't get to the foal first, they will stab, bite and slice the pegasus, bleeding them out. They will stomp the foal to death afterwards. If they do manage to escape, the wild unicorn will chase them as far as they can, and will kill them on sight if they ever return. Considering the weight and size of the pegasus, he will not be able to flee fast enough to avoid injury first, which could kill him later on. Once the wild unicorn comes within range, the pegasus will not be able to flee. The pegasus doesn't have enough speed or dexterity to back up as fast as they are moving forward, especially with a foal behind them. You can intervene. What do you do? #rp

Neither rock hits the wild unicorn hard enough to do anything more than stun him, though he is thrown entirely off balance. Enraged and disoriented, the wild unicorn scans his surroundings, trying to discover who his attackers are, and from where they've gotten the drop on him. It doesn't take long. Upon the rooftops, the wild unicorn beholds two pegasi of Princess Luna's Own EUP Guards, and five additional pegasi of the Cloudsdale EUP Garrison. Before the wild unicorn can react to these new challengers, his highly attuned senses warn him that he's being flanked. Turning about with a snarl, every bit as frightened as he is livid, the wild unicorn now beholds five earth ponies of the local EUP detachment in full heavy armor, helmets, plates and hoof guards. The earth ponies mean business, but once again sensing another threat, the wild unicorn whirls around again, this time coming face to face with four Unicorns, also of the EUP Guards, and also fully armored. All four of the unicorns arc their horns with the Taser Spell and lower their heads to charge. The wild unicorn is furious, frightened, affronted and confused all at once. He darts his gaze this way and that, not sure which threat to keep his attention on. None of the EUP Guards strike, they merely hold the wild unicorn at bay. Then in response to some invisible command they all turn about, facing the direction behind the wild unicorn and come to attention. The stallion pegasus, the unicorn foal and the wild unicorn all turn around one last time in utter bewilderment. Standing some two dozen feet away, the trio are regarded by the cool gaze of a tall, mature Pegasus. His hide is deep black all over, a disorienting contrast to the shocks of white, grey and ice blue hairs of his mane and tail. His cutie mark is the crescent moon, a lone cloud and five stars. Deep blue eyes regard the pair with an inscrutable attention, steady but not quite hard. He stood straight, legs evenly spaced in a perfect rectangle, chin slightly tucked down. His hoof guards, and a purple frock with coats of arms clearly identified him as a noble. And yet, his demeanor was somehow not haughty, almost the opposite of it. The glance was knowing and involved, not the condescension of the elite. A pause lasted for some indeterminate amount of time, later on, none of them could recall exactly how long. Then, the pegasus lord turned his head to a diagonal, and gave a slight bow, but only with his head. None of the legs bent. “Son of the woods, I am honored to meet you, the first of your kind to come before me.” The pegasus lord’s voice was deep, but gentle, grave but unafraid. “We protect this town even though we do not own it. We bleed, so you Celestia worshipers need not, I have fought first and then buried my kind in a single night!” The wild unicorn almost shouted his grievances, and stomped a hoof as he did so. “Just about the exact wording of the arrangement, or pretty close, as I recall. And what were we to do for you?” “At least feed us!” the wild unicorn bellowed. “Not this!” The wild unicorn gestured in exasperation at the bale of hay. “Yes…” The pegaus lord let the word roll off of his tough like a waterfall in slow motion. Now he came straight at the wild unicorn, the pace was unhurried but purposeful. The wild unicorn stood his ground, but he could no longer ignore a growing sense of dread. The pegasus lord stopped at a point where they were both in reach of each other, but just barely. Now he looked straight at the wild unicorn. “Get them out of here.” Upon the pegasus lord’s command, the earth pony EUP Guards took up positions around the pegasus stallion and the unicorn foal, and shepherded them away from the scene. “Who is that?” The unicorn foal whispered. “That is the Marquess of Cloudsdale, dear one.” The pegasus stallion answered quietly. “We’re lucky he has an audience with our mayor tomorrow, he must have just arrived.” “You and your kind have a good thing going here, protecting this town from the rather sticky troubles in these parts. It suits us because we have bigger oats to chew. You’re great for timber wolves and Diamond Dogs. But you’re no better than the rest of us as far as the changelings are concerned. Did you come here tonight to ruin this one good deal, which allows your tribe to stubbornly continue living your backwards ways?” “I came here to feed the stomachs of my ponies, we are hungry after serving you!” the wild unicorn answered. “Next time a problem arises, as they certainly must, go to the mayor first. I am seeing her tomorrow, and after I leave, you have my word that you won’t have any problems sorting this out with her. If you do, then come to me next. I am further giving you my word that neither you, nor any of your kind will have any trouble getting an audience.” “Cloudsdale is high in the sky and a different world to me and my tribe.” The wild unicorn remarked scornfully. “So is a world where arrangements like ours are unnecessary, we all have that in common. I will see to replacing this hay for you and your tribe myself. Come back tomorrow.” It had been a command and the wild unicorn had not missed the tone. He stood glaring at the pegasus lord, he wanted nothing more than to answer this challenge of a command in the traditional way, but something stopped him. The pegasus lord hadn’t moved or taken his eyes off of the wild unicorn, and now he seemed to be slightly more stirred. It was not that the pegasus lord was angry or impatient, but the distance of propriety seemed to have evaporated. “Come back tomorrow. Tonight, we are neither relenting before, nor rewarding your ill-advised display.” It was not in the wild unicorn’s nature to obey so final a command, even from his own kind, except perhaps a Grand Sire, least of all from an outsider. He stood staring on at the pegasus lord, wanting nothing more than to fight, but as never before in his entire life, something held the wild unicorn at bay. The pegasus lord reached out with his right hoof, with a deliberateness but without any speed. Before the wild unicorn could react, the pegasus lord caught the wild unicorn’s horn in his hoof and pulled downward. The wild unicorn almost lost his balance entirely, it was all he could do not to lose his footing completely. The pegasus lord had a grip of steel. He held the wild unicorn’s head almost to the ground at an angle that was comfortable for him, but agony for the wild unicorn. “It’s a big powerful tool you have here, why don’t you learn when not to use it?” The wild unicorn felt that the pegasus lord could have torn his horn out at any time, he felt like his neck was going to break, this fly horse was five times as strong as he looked, as nothing the wild unicorn had ever seen or heard of. “Your kind are obsolete. Okay, here in this region we have a few problems, so what? There’s a lot more of us than there are of you, we could find other ways of dealing with timber wolves. You deal with them in your tired, inferior way, and then you get to come here and be fed. It was Princess Celestia’s desire, that your tribe not shrink to the point where you inbred yourselves into a knot of lethal diseases. Don’t reward her kindness by creating complications.” The wild unicorn began to feel his anger and desire to fight giving way to something like despair, he understood now that he was no match for this monster bat of a pegasus, to say nothing all the EUP guards, all of whom remained still and silent. “If you ever really do anything like what you were spoiling to do here tonight, I’m going to come visit you at your village. While I watch, you will do the same to five of your mares and five of your fillies. And when I demonstrate on two of them what what I will do to ten of them if you refuse, you’ll quickly do it. Under the Elements of Harmony, we’re having a good run of it, you don’t want to be the player who struck out. We’ll strike you and your tribe from the memory of Equus. Do not spill the blood of your fellow ponies.” The pegasus lord released the wild unicorn’s horn, turned his back and began to walk off, as the EUP Guards formed columns on either side of him. The wild unicorn regained his balance, he was sore – but the soreness was already wearing off. For no reason he could ever identify or understand, the wild unicorn called after the pegasus lord, “Where are you going? The mayor’s office is on the other side of this town.” “I’m going to get your hay.” What do you do?
