She never did. Rosa was supposed to train and teach her student, to support the mare she'd razed into a Huntress. She never did. Rosa was supposed to no longer be a loner, to have others at her side. She no longer did. She determined friends had pulled her down while enemies made her stronger. She stood at the edge of an alleyway, watching on as some officers entered into an altercation with a psycho that'd gone nuclear. The bullets just kept whizzing on by, and she didn't blink once. She could have helped, but why waste her time? He was beneath her. Others were getting hurt. A young girl searched for her mom, while a cop held his downed partner. The streets ran cold with blood tonight, and she loved the stench. Why not just let this escalate? The officers weren't ready for someone with actual skill. With a plan of attack. A subtle smile graced her lips. Who's side was she even on?

1500 Years Ago Rosa stood idly in a wash way and watched on as swords clashed. As spears broke the air and arrows rained down like hellfire. Bodies lay everywhere, limbs adjacent. That smell was in the air, and she basked in it. She walked slowly out into the middle of the battle, easily sidestepped attacks and dodging on the way. The beautiful sound of metal on metal, and metal on flesh, surrounded the thestral. Each step was red. And then... She saw it. The girl, alone, sobbing in the corner by a fallen mother. Innocence spent. She crouched down by the shaking girl who looked up at her in fear, and pulled her into a gentle hug. "It will be difficult...but you will survive. I will protect you." A sword fell towards the two...

Now Rosa had walked into the crossfire, and looked over to the girl. Trapped, alone, and afraid. Pitiful. Weak. Innocent. Innocence lost. The psycho took aim at Rosa, and was met with brutal tranquility. Rosa dashed to this attacker. The coward raised his weapon and found it broken in two. His arms were as well. When did that happen? Rosa was not heartless, she was lost. An echo of her former self. But, innocence will always remind her of her past. Of the promises she failed to keep. "You pick on innocent souls. The young. Pick on someone on your level." He tried to kick her in his crazed attacks. She twisted his world. What would have lasted an hour ended in three minutes. She approached the young girl, to promise it'd be okay, but the little girl backed away quickly. "Monstah!" And fleed. Rosa stopped her steps, and turned. The spotlight was on her now. Officers approaching with their weapons drawn. The commands to get down contradicted the orders to turn around. Raise your hands contradicted opposing orders. She saved them, how could they do this? She didn't kill the shooter, just left him incapacitated. "I am an off duty Lunar Guard. Stand back." They didn't listen. "I am an off duty Lunar Guard. Stand. Back." They approached still, and the gun closest to her clicked. It all became clear to her now. She was being punished for a 1500 year old failure. And for the new failures of today. And for what? Friendship? Kindness? The first gun went off, and ten officers were found tied up to their patrol car, along with the suspect. By time medics arrived, she'd been gone, but the fear of her remained in all their eyes. The time of the Pink Knight was over. Ponies didn't accept a being like her. Why did anyone? Why should anyone? Rosa Cavalier was dead. The only support she needed was from her daughter, and her Crow. But what of the medic? The Huntress? Would they understand? Would they forgive her? She could live another 1500 years, and if they hated her, she'd understand. The news of what she'd done would spread soon. Monster stops gunman, then attacks police. The news will twist it.
