View MoreAs the sun began to set, the three signature whistles of the train rung out into the dreamy, pastel colored skies, signaling the final stop for Canterlot until the morning. As the whistles died off and the train began to leave the station heading off north to the Crystal Empire, the muted navy blue mare- the beloved Princess of the Night- opened the doors to her tower balcony, letting out a healthy yawn before shaking her head lightly. The sun, now fully disappearing behind the horizon of the pony capital, stretched its final rays of sunlight across the rooftops of the city before being snuffed out. The Princess lifted her head, lightly out a heavy, lonesome sigh before taking that as a note that it was time for her to begin her nightly duties. With a brilliant turquoise flicker of magic, her horn lit up in a brilliant hue and she lifted her head towards the skies, flaring her woman put. As she did so, the moon began to raise from behind the horizon, beginning to snuff out the last of the sunset as the colors of the skies above began to shift hues and turn to darkness. When the moon and stars had finally settled into their place amongst the sky, Luna's magic from her horn faded, and she tucked her wings in neatly beside her. Another sigh- albeit much heavier this time- escaped her lips once more. As important as she knew her nightly duties were, sometimes... She regretted just how lonesome they were. She turned her head to look at a nearby clock in her room; she had a few hours to spare before she had to enter the dream realm, as the moon oh so loved to rise earlier in the spring, and thus decided she'd make the most of the extra time she had and do a little sight-seeing around the city. Lining the halls with lavender couldn't possibly take that long, now couldn't it? Spreading her wings out again once more as she whipped her head around forward, she gabe her wings a mighty flap and propelled herself off into the air. With a few more steady flaps, and she was completely airborne, effortlessly gliding over the city's highest towers with ease. Remembering the whistles of the train, she turned her attention towards the train station, a sudden glint of excitement in her eyes. "Hopefully it tis still open this time..." Upon arriving at the train station, she gracefully landed on the station platform not to far from a particular white purred Unicorn, turning around to see if the platforms post office was still functioning. The smile on her face melted into one of annoyed disappointment, Luna rolling her eyes. "Figures." She grumbled under her breath. "Always tis by the time I wake up..." Huffing, she snapped her wings to her side, flicking her ear. "Tis fine. Mayhaps there's a nice café nearby that tis still open..."
