Born in Canterlot’s outer district, Nova-Blast grew up under the strained guidance of his father, Nordic-Bang, a stern but ultimately well-meaning stallion who rarely knew how to show affection. Things only worsened when Nordic remarried the proper and fearful HoneyCrumble, a mare who never understood Nova’s intense magical surges or the emotional volatility that came with them. Her discomfort steadily turned into anxiety, and then into full-blown suspicion—fueling household tensions that made Nova feel like a danger in his own home.
Complicating everything was Nova’s biological mother, a bitter mare with a talent for manipulation. She presented herself as loving and concerned, but behind closed doors was emotionally abusive toward Nordic-Bang and subtly harmful toward both Nova and his younger brother. Her calculated cruelty left deep marks, creating fractures in the family that would take years to even acknowledge.
Nova’s younger brother, Meteor Shower, once his closest companion, has drifted away in recent moons. Meteor’s loyalties and fears are torn—caught between wanting to support his brother and wanting to maintain stability in a household that always felt on the verge of collapse. His relationship with Nova now rests on fragile, cracking ice.
As a colt, Nova’s magic was powerful but unstable—emotions surging into sparks, bursts of light, even accidental teleportation. These outbursts only worsened as the home environment deteriorated. By his early adolescence, HoneyCrumble insisted he was a danger, and Nova—hurt, ashamed, and convinced he didn’t belong—left home far earlier than most young unicorns.!
