draw pony. then draw pony again in slightly different position. repeat until satisfied. Frank & Ollie wrote a great book on it about a century ago.
in all seriousness, the show used Flash puppet animation, so i'd suggest learning that. i also recommend studying how the characters in the show mo... View More
personally i find using photoshop to piece everything together easy if it's an animation without music; [cause the frame rate is really easy to adjust]
Otherwise, sony vegas but then you have to drop every frame and adjust the framerate by dragging it around. It's just much more complicating.
