Why had this barrier always been so hard for her to breach? She was supposed to have wings from the beginning, why was it so hard to just ... put them on and be what she was always supposed to be? Maybe it was just because there was more at stake for her. Wait, what did they say, fly with my? "Wait, what did I say exactly? Dangit, I try so hard to hide that." She groaned and put a hoof against her forehead and sighed deeply, her shoulders slumping in tiredness as she tried to let some of her tension go. "Sorry for being such a drama queen. I've been screwed with recently by like, some nightmare god or something, and it's ... it's making me realize I need to overcome my hangups and just ... try to embrace my potential while trying not to think about all that's at stake if I die. I figured if anybody could help me with that, it would be pegasi. And I thought if anybody could handle my intensity, it would be the best fliers in the equestria." She shrugged, "and yeah, sadly, no. My dorsal vents..." she turned sideways and took a breath that went all the way through, causing the four flaps to open under her fur, revealing the gill-like structures hidden under her thick highland fur, her voice continued, but emanated from her side, where the air emerged from her lungs, and her mouth hung open but stopped moving as she spoke using her ancillary vocal cords. It had a different quality to it, less directed, but still crystal clear and undeniably her, "...are really meant for accelerating my oxygen intake, shedding heat and zero-G maneuvers in an emergency. There were some interesting hybrids that could do more, but I'm not one of them." She lets the vents close and resumes breathing normally, "so, I can actually breathe like a bird, is what I mean. And you can imagine what that increased lung efficiency translates into in terms of performance. I try not to use it to keep the playing field level, but I can always kick things up to eleven for a show."

Nova Light

"hm." I watched and listen in the crowds, How is a unicorn walking on clouds? It was thanks to Rosalie that he was able to walk and see the performance in the wonderbolt tournament. I drinked my coffee which i made before going.
