The Day I Broke You may be wondering who I am, possibly what I am if personality contstructs are still a thing... My name is Oerius Vion, a former Asera, though I doubt the Committee is still around by now. Hmmm... This might take a bit of explanation... You see, I used to be a part of a group within our government, the Committee for the Advancement of the Human Genome, or CAHG. More specifically, I was a part of a very secret branch of the CAHG called the Reduction of Baseline Prevalance Program, or the RBPP. Most who knew about it but weren't in it... They simply called us the Murder Corps. And for good reason too. You see, we were those who wanted to join the CAHG and had exceptionally good combat skills, without having been in any true military portion. We were then told the words "Humanity is to evolve, never to stagnate," before being either forcibly or willingly dragged off to the homebase. The first thing they pushed into our minds was the fact- a very obvious one- that to break is to die, because those who break are those who talk, and talking would be death for all of us. Those who broke, they were put on a list, their name put down next to a date and a time. Past that time, the only place you would be encountering them is when you smelled their body as you walked past the cave on the way to te armoury. Everyone breaks eventually... The best the Program had seen were in there, alongside the worst, the highest, the lowest, no person who went out on assignments was unaware of how exactly they would eventually die. Those who didn't eventually break were labled as broken anyway and suffered the same fate. If you didn't break, then you were never sane to begin with. You might be wondering what exactly us Harbies, which is what we referred to ourselves as, were there to do. The answer to that is simple. Our one job was to go to the town or village or facility or small city we are told to go to, and kill every single person in it, regardless of age or gender. Most of the time, we were sent in what we called teams of one. Only once in the history of the Program did they have a situation requiring more than one Harbie to get involved, and that was so classified that they didn't just erase the memories of anyone who knew of it, they erased the entirety of the minds of anyone who knew of it. The reason for a Harbies extreme effectiveness is the suit that we used, but I won't go into details on that right now, you don't really care. Anyway, this day, I had been called up to recieve a target in the very early morning. And I'm tired right now, cryosleep isn't very good sleep compared to normal sleep. I'll send a bit more of my past out with the next log... Maybe... Who am I even talking to? No one would ever go near enough here to find my tansmissions... I don't think, anyway...
