View MoreThe warriors eyes fixated on the stars above, peering through the gaps between the dark, looming clouds and fixating his attention on the star filled inky abyss above them. In all his time spent travelling, these moments were the ones he always felt so fondly of. A warm, comfortable bonfire and nothing but nature and its sounds surrounding him.. He’d look down just in time to catch a glimpse of what seemed to be this stranger going face first into the fire! The stallion moved quick despite his size and armour, lurching forward to attempt and offer a hoof to keep him upright and drag him back safely to avoid any further damage, but he seemed to have caught himself… Or did he? Instead, a little goblin revealed itself, dressed in black attire with a headdress upon his little head. The stallion pulled his hoof back slightly, a quiet grunt leaving him as he stared down at the little creature. They may not be the smartest or the strongest, but he’s learned first hand how dangerous these things could be when grouped together on a single target. He glanced away from the goblin and to Crone as the goblin explained just *who* he was seated with and offering a spot by the fire to. The title certainly raised some alarms and many more questions, yet he didn’t appear outwardly threatening aside from his large appearance. Besides, ‘monster’ is relative. “I didn’t-.” The words couldn’t leave his throat before Crone clamped down on the goblins nose, causing it to begin to squirm in his grip as the breath left its lungs. It was admittedly quite amusing, the smallest of smirks tugging at the corner of his lips beneath his helm as the goblin fell back onto its rear. As the Crone took its spot next to him, his head turned to gaze down upon the hand that was burnt almost to nothingness, merely a protruding bone sticking from a stump until flesh and skin began to quickly form and retake the shape of a hand again. He watched in silent wonder, only speaking when Crone had, or he believed to at first. “He was only doing his duty.” He said with a dismissive shake of his head, though still confused as to where that voice was hiding… Perhaps another? Another indeed! The stallion straightened himself as he felt a thudding pat upon his arm, looking down towards the newcomer as they introduced themselves. ‘Jer and Jin’ he’d silently remark to himself, putting the names to each face. “Welcome, Jer and Jin.” He said with a simple glance between them. It had been some time since he had uttered his name to a stranger as he hardly stuck around long enough for it to matter. “Just call me Kane.” Tin can worked too. He’d reach over and set his mug of tea down by the fire, making a bit more room for the goblins to get comfy. “Do you.. Speak for your King?” He’d ask, more focused on Jer than Jin as he asked.

View MoreMonster was what Crone would call himself. Perhaps it is subjective but it was true. His life hurts, he cannot speak normally or move fast around. He has to have people watch him because people would kidnap him. They called themselves monsters for that is the only time people like Kane wanna talk the status of. So, monster was fine with him. Crone was perceived by many monsters as a quality king. Despite their titles, these goblins aren't always there to translate. It can be any of his entourage. The goblins are the usual go to. Crone would slightly look over at the warrior with a side glance when he mentioned his job. Crone simply hiss at that proposition. Jin would have gotten up and sat next to the warrior along with his sister. "He said, 'very well'." Jin said as he pat the strangers shoulders, avoiding using his claws as they were quite sharp. Not to say it could pierce his armor and something tells Crone that he isn't one just to show off his shiny new purchase. His jaw popped as it closed. He actually spoke. His voice was deep and growly. "Beautiful... Night. "He would slump back to a near mindless. His jaw popped as it defaulted slightly open. Jin and Jer would give a surprised look to each other then at the warrior. "He actually spoke to you! You should be honored. Crone is... Of sound mind." Jin said as his sister kicked her feet. "You see... Crone has incredible power that is harnessed into his left hand. The problem? It makes him into a mindless zombie." He shrugged. Jer would speak next. "Zombie! Now you may ask why he doesn't y'know remove it? It isn't his weakness aside from you killing off whatever child those souls were going to be. Like cutting the ventricles." She would hold out a claw. They both look at him and Jin says. "Now if it were forcefully removed then you best hope you can survive to see it grow back. You see Crone can actually create life itself at the risk of himself." The twos ears shot up as the stranger asked the question. "Crone can telepathicly talk to monster class creature. Now you may say, "Well, monster is subjective." Jer would laugh and shake her head then she gave a frown that was barely visible from her head dress. Jin would shrug and say. "Crone has been alive for thousands of years. Hell, he knew Canterlot when it was just "some mountain" and "some grass". If you could believe it." He shrugged. "Technically he is called an Elder Lich but instead of raising dead, he raises newborn monsters. A damned miracle from Gods!"

View MoreAs Jin came and joined in seating himself by the drifter with his sister, the stallion made a point to ensure he too was accommodated for like his sister, with a cozy and comfortable spot by the fire. He acknowledged the pat upon his shoulder with a side glance towards the goblin, but said nothing of it and merely turned back to the pot of tea seated upon the fiery coals. He reached in close to the flames and pulled it out to avoid it getting too unpleasantly hot, setting it down carefully next to it. “Feel free, both of you.” The knight extended the offer to the two goblins, only wishing to make them feel welcomed. He truly wasn’t expecting this much company, if any at all! His head lifted as he heard a deep voice slowly speak up, forcing out the words before his jaw hung slightly open. He sat up a bit in surprise, but briefly turned his attention to the truly beautiful night sky above. It was a humbling reminder that even ‘monsters’ and beasts could appreciate something as lovely as a clear night sky. “It is..” He’d quietly agree, turning to look down at the excited Jin as he exclaimed. That seemed to surprise the warrior even more, briefly shifting his gaze back to Crone who had seemed to slump into a lull again. He’d quickly turn his focus back onto the siblings as they began to explain more about this mysterious stranger, and the purpose of the power that harnessed itself into his left hand. The knight listened carefully and closely, curiosity dancing in his eyes beyond the dark slit of his helm. He was pony through and through, pure flesh and bone. He couldn’t help but have curiosities and wonders about such things, especially those he didn’t understand. He focused his attention on the arm as they described its purpose and its power. A gift yet a curse, capable of bringing about life at the expense of one. “Living that long must mean many have tried.” He said, referencing what would happen if it were to be forcibly removed. He had no doubt in his mind warriors and adventurers have attempted numerous times in the past, yet here he still sat with his goblins. There must be a reason they follow and do what they do, which led him to the assumption they were done right by their King, one way or another. “Are you two products of this power?” He asked curiously to the two headdress wearing siblings, curious if they too had been birthed by this power he possessed or were merely found and brought in under the wing of their King.
