The Spectral Creatures of the World of Equestria: Ghostkin! --- Many may know of the Familar Ghostkin, Angel, but most refer to as Ghost, But this is about the Species He is, That Being Ghostkin!, So Sit back, Read, And Enjoy, I put my blood sweat and tears into this! :D --- The fascinating species known as Ghostkin were not born from the natural world as one might expect. Instead, they were created through the means of powerful magic by a [REDACTED] whose name remains a secret. In reflecting upon the challenges faced by those without magic, particularly compared to the extraordinary abilities of Pegasi, who can soar through the skies, and Unicorns, who can wield a variety of spells, this figure was motivated to embark on groundbreaking research. Initial experiments involved small critters as test subjects. While some of these efforts resulted in unfortunate outcomes—such as the transformation into unrecognizable sludge or bizarre forms with odd limbs—persistent experimentation ultimately led to a remarkable breakthrough. Thus, the very first Ghostkin was born. --- Ghostkin possess a unique variability; they are not limited to conventional animals. Almost any creature can undergo the transformation into a Ghostkin, whether it be a regal griffon, a majestic dragon, a charming pony, or even an enigmatic changeling. Interestingly, their fur is not restricted to a singular color; it may appear in a myriad of shades and hues. One distinct feature of Ghostkin is the bright, patterned markings on their stomachs and paws. These patterns can differ greatly between individuals, both in appearance and intensity, and come in an array of colors, reflecting their individual personalities and journeys. --- As for their abilities, Ghostkin are known for their ghostly powers. They have the unique capability of floating, somewhat like flying, though they may not achieve the same gracefulness as Pegasi. Additionally, they can phase through objects, but the effectiveness and duration of this ability depend on their level of skill. Ghostkin can also tap into a special type of magic known as spectral magic, which serves to enhance conventional spells beyond their usual limits. Moreover, Ghostkin retain the ability to use regular magic without restrictions on the types of spells they can cast. The only limitations arise from the complexity and extent of the spells they attempt to wield. --- Intriguingly, there exists a rare achievement among Ghostkin: the ability to access a form known as Spectral Veil. This extraordinary transformation occurs when a Ghostkin pushes their body to its absolute limits and reaches a state of inner peace regarding any emotional burdens they may carry.
