Two goblin children would flee away from what seemed like several monster hunter. They scampered through the dark trees and fearful monsters within the everfree forest. Deep down inside lied a small abandoned town. The Town of Tears. This unique city has been in near ruin for hundreds of years and only has one citizen.
Crone. Crone? Who WAS Crone?  Well, currently he stood picking flowers slowly. He would reach down to grab what seemed like a pretty. As the goblins ran, it would become dark and darker. They would run until... They ran into someones butt. The girl running into his boney butt and the boy falling over her. A stallion who wore a cloak in a patch of flowers. The man slowly rose with a crown of flowers. He would look over and the color was flushed from their faces as they ran the other way. The Goblinoids children would have ran into the adventurers. On close inspection, seems to be two wayward knights and a magic caster of sorts. One of the knights would hold his sword and said. "There you are. I was looking for you." He grabbed the girls leg and dragged her toward him. This happened until crone pushed him away with a rough charge. He would groan as he said. "A zombie! Ha! Still have feeling in that head big guy?" He would jab his sword into the fellas chest. The creature hissed as the sword went halfway in. Then, suddenly, the odd undead would use his giant arm to pull the knight in.
The arm letting go and grabbing the mans head, crushing his skull from the pressure. His body would shake and blood dripped down untill it stopped. The zombified man dropped the knight, who was all but skin and bones. The other knight would go around and grabbed crone from behind, restricting his movement.  The zombie would respond by letting out a disturbing wail that would echo through the uniquely vast woods that was everfree. The magician would have leaves fall on him as he looked at the knight.
"Leave him be! We have to go! Horde is coming!" He said.  The knight would let go of him to start to run but a web would trip him. This web was made on the floor. The knight looked around as a giant spider creature landed on top of him, nearly flattening him. The man would struggle scream in pure panic. A drider or some call them Arachne half-lings.  A beautiful insectoid on its own but the upper half was a sentient mare who was covered in small fur. The part under it was it's protective shell-like skin. It carried a spear in which she jabbed through the mans armor and through his chest. She would leave him punctured into the ground. Blood pouring out of his armor and helmet.
The giant woman would move to Crone. "My king! What do you want of the wizard stallion?" Crone looked up at her slowly as she would climb into her back. The mare helped him on her back. "We ride then. You're much too kind to these Equestrians, master." The Arachne moved with haste with hundreds of spiders would comb the forest. She found the magician sitting behind a tree as Crone grabbed him by his brown robes.
"Be merciful the King chose to save a welp like you!" The fella was all tears the whole way through. "Keep crying though! It amuses me!" She laughed right up until they were at the border. Crone threw the youngster outside of everfree. Crone looked at her and she squinted at the equestrian. "Step foot in our forest again and you may not be so lucky! Our merciful master challenges you to retire your reign of violence. To return to your family because you will not be so lucky next time! Understood?" She stomped her legs at him and he collapsed in apologize.
"Y-Yes, M-Miss and sir."
Crone said something to her and she said. "I am Rain and he is the Master Crone. King of Monsters." The man would gasp and was frozen in fear. K-King of monsters? That useless sort? The giant drider would move on as Crone waved at the man.
"W-What?" He asked out loud.
The giant Arachne would say. "You are much weak, Master Crone."
Crone would groan and shake his head. "Raw strength isn't everything, Rain. You should know this by now." His commanding voice engrained into her brain.
Rain would scoff. "As if an equestrian would give US mercy! They almost killed two children! Which means their parents must be dead!"
Crone would shake his head and said. "Yes. I am aware of this. I will have someone dig graves for those poor souls for I cannot recover them when they have drifted off." He said, sadly.
Rain would give a sad look as well. "Worried, I am."
Crone touched her back. "I know. In due time, we will get to be free again, Rain. However, your safety comes first. We do not have the resources to be making more enemies." He said.
"So be it, Master Crone." Rain said as they would go after the Goblinoids who were running. They actually didn't move from their spot earlier.
"You two, you will stay with us for a while. Perhaps, I will be your teacher and you will be my voice. How is that?" The two would reluctantly feel obligated to join. However, a bad choice it was not. The goblins would have climbed up and Crone helped them up. He would hum with joy. "Good. We will find your parents and see they are buried with care."
"Yes, sir." They both said as Rain snapped.  "That is Master Crone to you, cannon fodder!" She hissed.
Crone shook his head. "Don't listen to her. Whatever you want to call me. She's a beautiful soul who knows her calling. Like all of us do." Rain blushed at his words.
"I require no praise, Master Crone." She said gently
"Ridiculous! Praise goes to all my people." They would have made it to the City of Everlasting Tears where monsters were uniquely walking around like normal. Even natural born enemies were friendly in these parts. A City of Monsters.
"We grow every day. We will become a power unlike any!" Crone chuckled and shrugged slowly.
"Welcome home."
