Name: Spinneret
Appearance: Spinneret is shorter than the average changeling, with her frill especially being quite small.  Her color motif is green, giving her bright green eyes and dark green elytra.  She is a so-called "unreformed" changeling, meaning she still has holes in her legs and two long tusks from the top of her mouth.  As Sprouting Bulb, she is a green pegasus with blue mane, lavender eyes, and an eighth-note cutie mark.  Her mane is styled into a spiky mohawk, and her tail is short and stumpy.  She is also always seen with her trademark eyeliner wings.
Personality: Spinneret is confident, occasionally to her detriment.  If someone tells her she can't do something, well, she just has to try even harder to do it!  Her foolhardiness has landed her in trouble a few times, but she doesn't care; she always has something to prove to someone.  She is also an infovore, spending her off-time reading books about history and science...and annotating any inaccuracies about changelings she finds.  She also enjoys Daring Do and Power Ponies, with Radiance being her favorite Power Pony.  In addition, she has been known to be quite flirtatious, relying on her more attractive assets to get her through many situations.
Occupation: None
Rank: Former Corporal, Apprentice of King Artemis
Abilities: Despite what some may assume, Spinneret is quite physically strong, able to overpower many creatures.  This strength has been enhanced due to the presence of wolf pup ghosts residing in her body (I swear to God this makes sense in context).  In addition, she has the typical changeling magic of shapeshifting and levitation.  Thanks to King Artemis, she also has Arcane, allowing her to copy many types of magic with varying levels of difficulty.  She has currently figured out permanent pegasus magic and can use many of the same spells as a novice wizard, such as blasts of magical energy and short-range teleportation.  Finally, she can use the Queen's Glare, which works the same as Fluttershy's Stare.
Likes: children, winning, being praised, physical affection, spicy food
Dislikes: children being hurt, being small, being called "cute", ponies, those with great power but no respect for what it means to wield it, pastries
Fears: insectivores, abandonment, Chrysalis
Romantic Interests:  She is, as a wise man once put it, "super omegalulz gay".  She's not picky in regards to (SAPIENT) species, just as long as they're female.  Cis, trans, even nonbinary with a feminine leaning...she just likes women.  Potentially, her worst-kept secret is her crush on the Head Lunar, Kirra, unwittingly finding herself in a love triangle due to not understanding that ponies tend to be monogamous.
Family: Her "big bro", Pedipalp, who hatched five seconds before her, is the creature she respects the absolute most.  Palp himself has married a pony named Sunset Reds, and together, they adopted a hippogriff named Pandion.  She also has parents, named Coxa and Aphid, though Spinneret doesn't really spend time with them.
Backstory: Spinneret hatched on the 20th day of the 3rd month of the 984th year after Nightmare Moon's banishment, in a strange alternate universe where the princes are actually princesses.  She spent her first year surviving the harsh environment of the nursery hive, where all the newly-hatched larvae fight for survival.  Upon her first molt, shedding her larval body and becoming a proper nymph, she was exposed to the royal jelly, turning her into a Baroness Changeling, essentially an emergency Queen.
At age 4, she missed a molt.  This resulted in relentless bullying from the other nymphs, earning her the nickname "Spinner-gnat".  The others always teased her for being small, supposedly weak, and "too cute to be scary", giving her insecurities that last to this day.  However, she also met her first best friend, a purple-eyed changeling named Elytron.  And then, three years later, the two set off on an adventure to Ponyville.
Elytron designed two disguises: Pretty Pink for herself, and Sprouting Bulb for Spinneret.  With these disguises, the two would occasionally sneak out of the hive to spend time in Ponyville.  While in Ponyville, Elytron began to yearn for the freedom of Equestria, while Spinneret began to yearn for Elytron.  It was in this time that Elly began singing to get bits, which would determine the path of Spinneret's life for years to come.
Spinneret had other friends, despite Chrysalis' attempts to dissuade such feelings among changelings.  There was Prosoma, her brother Ommatidium, the vain yet powerful Damselfly, and class clown Mandible.  And, as they entered their teen years, they would be sent out on missions.  Once, Spinneret was one of the drones sent to infiltrate a Grand Galloping Gala, where she destroyed an entire corporation by impersonating its CEO.
Soon enough, it would be time to invade Canterlot.  The wedding between Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and Captain Shining Armor was approaching, and Damsel was sent out to replace a foal for reconnaissance.  However, Damsel grew to genuinely care for her host family.  Also around this time, Elly told Spins about her plans to stay behind after the invasion and live in Canterlot.  Spins never admitted to it, but she wanted to come along as well.
And then everything changed after the invasion.  Seventeen-year-old Spinneret was forced to watch her friends die.  Ommatidium was launched into a lamppost, which electrocuted him to death.  Damsel attempted to flee Canterlot with her host family, but was killed by a guard...who was himself killed by Spinneret in retaliation.  And then, when the changelings were repelled from Canterlot...fourteen-year-old Mandible was among the many crushed against the mountain.  Many more were grievously injured in the attack and killed when they hit the ground.  These events traumatized her to the point where she could no longer enter Canterlot without flashing back to the invasion, and even the idea of a child being in danger had become enough to trigger severe panic attacks.
Elytron barely managed to survive the impact.  Spinneret picked her up and carried her, hoping to bring her to the hive to get help.  But Chrysalis, seeing the dying Elytron as dead weight, finished the job.  Spinneret's blind faith in Chrysalis was shattered, and the next year, she left the hive for Ponyville.
From then on, Spinneret lived as Sprouting Bulb, janitor at Rich's Barnyard Bargains, aspiring pop star.  However, she constantly lived in fear and paranoia, believing it was every pony's civic duty to turn changelings in to the princesses for execution, and the princesses would hang her wings on the wall as a trophy and drink brandy from her horn.  She joined with a group of alley cats calling themselves "the Horde", due to their shared hatred of ponies.  And that's where the "back" of her story ends; from this point forward, this is all from RPs up to this point.  Note that the events mentioned should not reflect poorly on the roleplayers involved, they're my friends and i like them :)
Five years later, Spinneret purchased a figurine of the character Rain Check, who turned out to be both alive and romantically obsessed with her.  At this point, she met Stickman and joined his Force...only to find herself yet again feeling like another drone, her frustrations only growing with every underestimation of her power and miscellaneous other slight.  To prove her strength to Stickman, she killed and ate a pack of wolves...only to be nearly killed for it by Knight Wolf, only saved by intervention from the wolf cubs who died because of her.  With them, she gained new strength in exchange for raising them.  And, during a massive fight, Spinneret properly met King Artemis, who bestowed upon her Arcane and taught her a powerful spell.
After the fight, she was taken to the castle by Kirra to become Artemis' apprentice, and slowly began to develop a crush on her.  At the castle, she finally felt respected, as though she was valued by the King as more than just a simple grunt.  Her allegiance to the King was clad in iron upon receiving her son, Hornet Nest, a clone from her DNA and that of a powerful evil...and Stickman suggested for her to kill him, for which she has never forgiven him despite his change of heart soon after.
Now, she lives in the castle full-time, taking breaks from her studies to ensure little Hornet is raised properly.  When he's asleep, she tends to drift towards the library, where she writes in her diary, reads, and pores over her grimoire.  With help from her new friend Ghostbit and the nun Sister Angelica, her life has been steadily improving.  She still fears the King and Queen, however, believing that one wrong move may take her to the gallows.
