Drip...drip...drip...
Blood dripped from Camille's fur as she stood there, bodies surrounding her. Bodies that she doesn't recognize, nor remember how they got there. How she got there. This wasn't something she could comprehend.
Drip...drip...drip...
Before her stood a single griffon, her fur too stained in the maroon of life ichor. She was staring at Camille sadly, eyes full of tears as she dropped her spear to the ground while her hands trembled. She fell to her knees, sobbing into her hands as she trembled. The sound of footsteps approaching shook her to her core, but she just couldn't move her body. That was when she felt a hand resting on her shoulder, along with a little hum from the one beside her.
"In death we live, through life we die..."
Minutes ago... Everything to Camille exploded into vivid color, it was like she was seeing with a new set of eyes. She could see the glow of the souls surrounding her. To her, they looked wicked and weak. Looking down at herself she could see a light like no other. Her soul was enveloped by the glow of demonic ether. Looking up she could see all of those around her diving at her. Local tribals- lost by a careless leader. Valkeries- hunters and killers deranged by expectation of grandure. All frozen in a moment of time as her own mind reread what she just remembered. The feeling of being turned on by everyone she thought she could trust. The feeling of calling for her father to save her. Hoping that Alexander could arrive in time. But she didn't need him this time, nor did she need her mother. Life really was a Paradox. She just wanted to live, but living was dying. She wanted to die, but dying was living. No, she didn't need them. For they made one mistake when awakening the demon deep within her. Camille wasn't inherently violent, but she still had a violent nature hidden behind the walls. Before the first could make contact with her, they found themselves in her hands one moment and then crushed into the ground the next. Camille did a sort of kickflip over the next two attacks, landing with a spin that sent her up on her shoulders. The spin wasn't by accident, she landed kicks on the current two attackers, sending them launching backwards, one already finished off. The spin continued and she moved up onto a single-handed handstand. She winked at the nearest mare, who charged her with a battle scream, only for Camille to dodge to the side and land a left hook right on her mouth. The crack wasn't just her jaw breaking, either, as she fell hard. With a hiss, Camille turned to face the next onslaught, but every creature there was coming for her with no pause now. She'd dodge attacks, landing low blows and hard punches on each one. She wasn't holding back, not afraid to show off her true power. Sending them all flying across the rubble-filled room. Sure, a few attacks would eventually make contact to her. A few cuts from a sword or a spear that she busted with a punch. The zebra holding the spear, having picked it up from the previous Valkyrie, stared at the broken blade in pure shock as Camille grabbed him by the face, picked him up, and slammed him into the ground. Then, magic hit her. Launching her backwards and into a wall. She slowly fell to the ground, coughing a few times as she tried to catch her breath. Air stolen from her lungs not by the wall, but the magic itself. Magic had no place here. She stood through the haze filling her mind and growled, seeing just what was surrounding her. They just wouldn't stop coming. Alone versus an army, and her rage just wouldn't ebb from the flow. She spread her wings, flying into the air. As she did, the many begins firing at her. Arrows, magic, thrown spears...none of which hitting their intended target as they seemed to simply bounce away from her growing energy. Behind Camille a Bloodmoon seemed to form, alone in the sky, shining through a large chunk of missing roof. She flew up before it, enveloped by the glow. A single dark figure silhouetted by a red moon that seemed to flow with ethereal energy. Only her eyes glowed to show the same red, enveloping the blue beneath. I'll break the world long before it breaks me Tear me apart, no casket can case me I'll break the world long before it breaks me Beyond the veil and back again summon the reckoning It was like a million Camille's came from the sky. Each one darting down at speeds barely perceivable, and each one plunging into a target below. Crashing through them, not harming the physical form, but rather destroying the soul beneath. Sending them beyond....back to the plane they all were to remain. Rebirth was not welcome here. As each one fell, Camille would slowly return to the ground, landing gently and stepping forwards. The few that weren't hit found themselves crushed beneath her strength. A smile on her lips that showed teeth, and blood dripping down her face that wasn't hers to wear. But in this moment, she wore it proudly...or at least the demon within did. Finally, two remained...and Camille grabbed the first one by the throat, holding her up high in the air. "You betrayed me. Tricked me. Killed what was left of me. Favor returned." Snap...thump... She stepped over the body and stopped, staring at the remaining Valkyrie. Life icor stained her fur, for she too fought her own kind. They called her a traitor for not fighting Camille, for holding back...they chose a two-sided front against the most well-trained duo in the room. "In death we live, through life we die... Valerie, I told you. I warned you. I said this would end up happening, and it did. I'm not proud, and when the goody-goody two-shoes wakes up, she's going to freak because she just killed all of these souls. Try to remind her they were already dead." "Y-you're not Camille...what...who are you?" "Everyone has a demon inside, most demons are weak. Camille was not so lucky. We are trapped together, and I don't like it anymore than her. Yet, here we are. Just remember what I said, Val. Tell her the truth, don't lie. Because if you don't?" Camille leaned down, lifting Val's chin and staring at her with her burning red eyes. "I'll tell her it was your fault, and will be right back out to finish what I started. Everyone will burn." Everyone will burn.
