Calaco had sent a box to Inks home. It didn't look terrible but the clash of two different kinds of wrapping paper was certainly odd. It was even complete with a bow and note card on top. #rp

View More"This blossoming flower has a multitude of uses. However it should be noted that the flower is often seen as dangerous when no danger is there. Usually due to the sound of its seed pod exploding upon death of the flower, but worry not. It is merely a loud sound and how this particular member of the orchid family spreads its seeds. The flower it's self is the only one that grows on the stalk, with anywhere from eight to twenty pedals of different hues. It is often found with several large pedals to assist in its growth outside the Castle walls. When dried it makes a lovely gift due to its coloration, and the seeds can be harvested to use in foods. Similar to the eyes of newt, (Mustard seed) it has a uniquely tangy flavor and is often just as hot as the bell peppers that are grown in the palace garden. However the rest of the flower is inedible, studies show it causes issues with digestion when eaten raw or prepared in any way. A tincture to assist in digestion and passing is advised to be prescribed if any eat this bloom. As for religious rituals, this flower is often associated with dusk. As it blooms around the time of the harvest. Due to this flowering at such a time of the year, many have adopted it to mean a welcome harvest or a safe winter when a bundle of dried flowers is hung above the door much like a mistletoe. The pedals seem to last only a few days, two weeks at most before it dies naturally and will not appear until the next harvest season. Though with little use, it is a beautiful flower that takes a lot of work to grow inside the castle walls. It is unknown why, but I believe it requires something from the forest to grow successfully and bloom properly. Lest all you get is a boring stem with large pedals. One can find this particular flower around small ponds and the lakes within the forest, though it is advised to not go venturing for them due to the dangers outside of the town. However that does not stop a daring stallion to seek it out and gift it to a mare much like a rose. By it's self it has adopted a meaning of companionship not unlike close friends. However in an arrangement with other flowers it can mean a strong love or a blessing for a healthy child depending on what it is paired with. As such I have named it the Dusk Bloom Orchid."
