She can hear that damndable l... View MoreCharl flees deeper into the castle ruins, clutching her side as her hard-earned blood leaks from a seared, stab wound. Behind her she can hear voices rapidly approaching. She can hear that damndable lord barking orders to his men as they close in on her. She needed to find some place to hide until the night, where she could slip away, and find another estate to feed off of. But the night was so very far away, and she only had so much room to give before they caught her. The vampire cries out as a searing pain passes over the left side of her back. She looks back down the long hallway she's sprinting down to see the estate's lord training a rather ornate looking rifle at her. He depresses the trigger, and a beam of radiant energy shoots forth from the barrel. The ray passes over the bottom half of her right legs, causing her to stumble slightly before she manages to turn the corner. After passing the corner, Charl manages to find a room to hide herself in. She slips into the dim room, and manages to hide herself behind an old bookshelf just as the light of an electric torch shines into the room. She watches as two stallions enter the room to search, while the rest of their party continues down the hallway. They'll find her soon enough if she doesn't do anything, but the chances of her actually taking out both stallions quietly are slim. Still, it's the only chance she has. Charl waits until one of the stallions makes his way over to investigate the bookshelf before she lunges out at him. The stallion manages a partial yelp before she sinks her fangs into his neck, and rips it open. She elects to replenish her supply later, as she has more pressing matters to deal with. The second stallion fires off a shot from his rifle, and strikes her in the shoulder. She grunts before lunging towards him as well. This stallion manages to level his silvered bayonet in time, and Charl just barely stops herself inches before the blade would have pierced her chest. She attempts to dash around to his side to hopefully catch him before he can react. A combination of sharp, searing pain shoots into Charl's side. She whips her head to her left to find another stallion having thrust his silver-bayoneted rifle into her side. As he pulls it out for another stab, a second bayonet strikes her chest. Charl collapses to the floor, now desperately clawing for the room's exit. Two more stallions enter the room, and any hope Charl had of escaping is dashed. Lord Ridgewell II enters the room most of his men had entered around 10 seconds after he'd heard a yelp, and a gunshot. There, he finds his men in a circle, stabbing at someone on the floor with their bayonets, as well as one of his men dead on the floor next to them. The lord orders his men to cease, and they part to let him observe their kill. Before him lies the vampire that had terrorized his estate for nearly a year. Once, a menace who's form was nothing more than a silhouette in the night. She looked so helpless now. The near-dead form of the vampire stares up at him with a mixture of revulsion, and fear. Without a word, the lord removes his silvered saber from its scabbard, and holds it in front of his face as he utters a quick prayer. Afterwards, the lord opens his eyes, looks to the vampire, and states "Pray the divine monarchs may forgive you. For we shall not." He then drives his saber into the vampire's neck. A swift end. The lord leaves no time for silence. The moment his saber is removed from the vampire, he speaks. "Right chaps. Let us gather Corporal Jean, and his belongings. We must also bring the body of the vampire to the chapel for proper disposal. We must make haste, so Corporal Jean can be properly cared for, before his final rest." #rp
