Dust fills the air of the Ridgewell estate, as a small baggage train enters. View MoreDust fills the air of the Ridgewell estate, as a small baggage train enters. In the front is a supply wagon, driven by the estate's lord, Amadeus Ridgewell II, with one of his long-time hunting partners at his side. Behind them trails 2 other wagons. One carrying a howitzer cannon, armaments, and ammunition, with the final wagon carrying the corpse of a great, alligator-like beast. The estate's tenants gather along the road to welcome their lord back, and awe at his latest kill. As the baggage train is pulled up towards his manor, Amadeus smiles, and waves to his tenants. Occasionally, he asks about life on the estate during his absence, and is delighted to hear one of the families is welcoming their first son next month. He'll have to make sure he clears his schedule for that day so he can be among the first to welcome the new colt into the world. When the baggage train arrives at the manor, Amadeus helps his hunting party, and servants unload the wagons, and goes with his friend to his trophy room. He'll need to clear some space for the Cairex to be displayed. While the two are discussing which displays to move, Amadeus' butler, and best friend, Mr. Gaudell enters the room. "Amadeus. Welcome back. I trust your hunt was successful?" Mr. Gaudell's tone was as calm, and prim as ever. Amadeus turns, and gives his butler a smile in return. "Indeed Mr. Gaudell. Though regrettably, many townspeople were killed, we managed to slay the beast, and our party suffered no injuries." His eyes then spot a sealed envelope in Mr. Gaudell's left hand. The seal appears to be stamped with some sort of heraldic emblem. Mr. Gaudell then speaks again. "A missive came while you were away, Amadeus. It's from Prince Argel. I believe he is a nephew of King Artemis." A nephew of the King of the Night? Odd. Amadeus doesn't remember the king having any nephews. "Very well. I shall read it in my study after I have finished here." Mr. Gaudell nods, and retreats from the room, leaving the two hunters to continue their discussion. Around 3 hours later, a fairly exhausted Amadeus enters his study. There, he finds a piping hot cup of tea, and the letter form earlier waiting for him. After sitting, he takes a few sips of the tea, and sets it down to open the letter. The seal is certainly of royal make, but Amadeus has never heard of this "Prince Argel" before. He carefully breaks the seal, and removes the letter within. The letter is eloquently worded, and needlessly long. Certainly the king of letter a prince would send. It introduces Prince Argel as a nephew of King Artemis, who had been on campaign in Bugbear territory for many years. Upon returning to Equestria, he found his lands had been confiscated by a corrupt noble, and he was looking for new residence in order to muster an army to re-claim his lands. He wished to schedule a meeting with Amadeus, and had been told there was an old castle on his estate. He wished to negotiate ownership of the castle to use as a residence until he could re-take his lands. Odd. Why would a nephew of the king be reaching out to him, and not his uncle? Perhaps they were simply not on good terms? Or perhaps his uncle was too busy to assist. Whatever the reason, a royal was asking Amadeus for a meeting, so he simply cannot refuse. Amadeus turns to his desk, and removes a piece of parchment, and an ink pot from it. He needed to draft a letter to Prince Argel, and have it sent as soon as possible. Best not to keep royalty waiting. #rp
