"I'm done trying to do any real work with these things. Their danger clearly exceeds any potential for good they have. Really, there's no reason why they should have left the frozen north to begin with.." He chuckles, dropping a pile of crystals into a large chest. "But hey, we all make mistakes, right?" The friendly expression on the unicorn's face disappears a moment later. His shadow grew longer, spread out from him and rose from the ground as the same red mist from before. There was a brilliant flash, a burst of energy that knocked back everything around it, and at the center was Sombra. A massive hole in the rock wall was blown out, with acres of Equestria visible from the high vantage point. Crystal shards littered the floor, a low red glow emanating from them as the dust settled. Sombra's figure was visible through the darkness, but something was.. Off. His friendly stance was now much more rigid, his horn now a long, sharp curve that glowed a sickly red. Green eyes pierced the darkness. Metal clanged on the stone floor as he fell once more. "Marina?" A voice called out, that of the Sombra the pair had already known. It called out once again, and one more time before abruptly fading into nothing. A low laugh filled the air. With a deafening crackle, enormous slabs of crystal tore through the ground and lifted the dark unicorn up into the air. "Marina!" that same low voice called out, hate tainting the sound. "Show yourself, my beautiful crystal pony.. Come out so I may see your coat shine!" Sombra hops down to another crystal pillar, this one growing mere feet away from where Marina and Flam were hidden by debris. "I know you're here, Marina." That once long forgotten voice speaking her name sounded like nails on chalkboard to Marina. "I can smell the stench of despair you 'ponies' always have about you.." The unicorn continues to tear up the room, getting increasingly furious as he failed to find her in the mess. With a frustrated shout, Sombra knocks over a table full of lab supplies. "I know you're hiding me from her, you spineless excuse for a king!" Sombra seemed to be shouting at nobody in particular, darting around the room angrily. "You can try all you want to block her from my mind. I will find her." He turns to look at a mirror and grins at himself. "I'll make her my right hoof mare.. And you'll have a front row seat to it all!" He gives out another sinister cackle before lifting himself away with more crystal pillars, causing a particularly large one to sprout at the mouth of the cave's opening before vanishing in a dark cloud of smoke.
