i feel like people underestimate children's tolerance of horror. kids look at the Monster House or the Other Mother and just see "wow cool monster", they don't think about the implications of these creatures or what they do.

i think that's why mascot horror is so popular, kids don't see something terrifying, they just see a cool monster. they don't think about how Freddy Fazbear looks on the inside, or the fact that it could have been them, they just see the haunted robot bear.
