Nor was it something that had ever been expected of her before now. After all, she specialized in undercover operations, not snatch-and-go ops. This was the price she was paying for being forced to spend 2 weeks in living hell. She knew the most about the layout of the compound her team was going in to, and if she didn't lead the way, the agency might end up with 6 dead agents.
Hiari stands with 6 other agents of the Equestrian Investigation Agency, all seemingly kitted for a firefight. First, there's the team leader, a Gryphon named Evard. He was here to be the team's main line of communication with the Tactical Operations Center, just half a mile from the compound. Second, was their team's demolitions expert. An earthy pony by the name of Soot. Third, there was the team's medic, a Unicorn named Garter. Quite an unfortunate name if you ask Hiari. Fourth, and fifth were agents Hilbert, and Rosa. The CQB expert, and negotiator. Finally, there was a representative from the EIAs Occult Investigation Division, who would be their go to for stopping all things ritual, and culty. Oddly enough, the representative was actually the sub-director of the division. A unicorn who went by the name 'Seraph.'
The team waits silently as the watch the entrance of the compound built into the ground with the moonlight as their only source of light. Hiari strains her eyes as she watches the patrol of cultists walking back and forth in front of the entrance in a makeshift patrol. She can't quite be sure, but she thinks she sees two of the 4 collapse, with the other two collapsing as they attempt to scramble back into the compound. It's then that she hears a voice in her earpiece.
"Entry Team, TOC. You are cleared for entry."
Special Agent in Charge Evard responds in kind. "Acknowledged, TOC. Moving in."
"Copy that Entry Team. Good Hunting."

Dang, and only 10 minutes before Hiari was off for the night. As Hiari reaches to grab the folder, she looks to the stallion, raising an eyebrow. "Oh? Must be pretty important if they've got you giving me the deets." Hiari smirks slightly. She knew this stallion pretty well. It was a well known joke between the two that the brass always sent him to give her the menial jobs.
The fact that the stallion didn't smirk back caused Hiari's to falter. "Brass is prepping a Heavy Response team to take down a cult that's started getting too large to cover up. 'The Children of the Broken Path.' Ring a bell?" Hiari nearly goes into shock from just hearing the name. She could NEVER forget all the batshit insane stuff she'd seen when she'd been covering them. The only word Hiari is able to utter is a silent "fuck." At this point, the stallion's expression changes to one of sad understanding. "Agent-" He stops himself. "Hiari. I know you went through hell back then, but you're the only agent in all of Equestria with any inside information on these guys. Brass wants you to guide the team so they aren't just wandering blindly."
Hiari sits in silence for some time before she looks back up to the stallion. "Not like I have a fucking choice is it?" The stallion simply shakes his head. This causes Hiari to clutch her mane tightly, with her head thunking against her desk. "Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck." #rp
"Try not to do anything illegal with your celebrations today. I'll be watching."

She hated paperwork, but it was an integral part of her job. If she didn't do it, there's the chance the missing paperwork/information could cause problems down the road.
While in the process of typing up a report on the "Children of the Broken Path" Hiari's gut begins to churn. Terrible unease washes over her body as her mind begins to drift.
The familiar scent of brown sugar cinnamon cookies begins to tug Hiari's thoughts towards her sister. She allows herself a smile at the memories of he two baking cookies for their mother on Mother's Day all those years ago. Hiari then shudders as the unease dredges its way back into the forefront of her mind.
For a few moments Hiari looks to the ceiling, and focuses hard on seeing beyond the tile above her. She closes her eyes, takes a deep breath, and quietly makes a wish to see her sister in person again soon. Alongside a wish that she'll be able to fulfill whatever that 'grand plan' of hers was.
With her quick wish over Hiari heaves a sigh, and returns to her paperwork. She's going to need to get this done quickly if she wants any hope of going to Dingbats Grill with the guys later tonight. #rp

She'd managed to make her way into Baltimare around 7 PM last night. Following an uneasy nights rest Hiari contacted her boss, and was in the EAI office in Baltimare only an hour after she woke up.
She'd spent all day in a debrief, and the coffee/food they offered her hardly helped her lack of sleep. With what information she'd gathered it seemed like the brass might form some plan of action to take down the freaks. Though Hiari's pay grade wasn't high enough for her to know any of that. At best she'd get an after action report to tell her the bare bones of what went down afterwards, but she doubted she'd get even that.
With her 14 hour long debrief finally over, Hiari is able to find a couch in the office, and get some sleep. Technically she's not supposed to do this, but if nobody stops her, she's not going to stop. #rp

View MoreUsually, Hiari tried to spend more than a month with whatever organization she was trying to get dirt on, but these cult guys were something else. They called themselves "The Children of the Broken Path", and they were a whole new brand of insane.
They called their priests 'Pathlayers', and Hiari couldn't even begin to describe the depths of their depravity. Sermons that they screamed throughout the halls while the lower ranking cultists trudged behind them like mindless zombies. Excessive rituals involving acts of self-mutilation so horrendous that not even the most hardened of minds could stand to watch. The robes they wore to cover their horridly malformed bodies. Could they even be considered equestrian anymore?
She couldn't do it anymore. All the screaming, the strange noises when she tried to sleep, the people who watched her when she slept, and the blood. Oh monarchs all the blood. These guys were freaks, and they needed to be stopped.
Hiari manages to get herself relegated to foraging duty this morning. Instead of foraging however, Hiari smuggles as many materials as she can out of the compound, and walks alongside the other cultist she's supposed to be working with until they're away from the compound. There, Hiari manages to put the cultist in a hold, and knocks her unconscious. She hides the cultist in the brush to the side of the road before bolting northeast towards Baltimare.
If it were up to Hiari, she'd have this entire compound destroyed. #rp

Why didn't they have the anti-magic guys leading the investigation? More importantly, why was she, an agent with NO experience dealing with cults, being sent as the inside mare? Oh well, orders are orders.
She had her orders. Now she just needed to find the contact she'd been told about to get into this cult without arousing suspicion. #rp
"I see every meme you post on every website. Definitely not kek." Hiari shakes her head disapprovingly.

Hiari was ecstatic to get to visit her sister, and their cousin for a week, but did they really have to choose Vanhoover of all places to live? She'd only been here a day, and she was already starting to question if the city as a whole had collectively agreed to just be weird.
EVERYTHING had a maple flavor. Donuts, syrup, coffee, cookies, candles, even lip balm. Nothing was safe. Not only that, but there was even a GIANT MAPLE LEAF on the side of one of the city's skyscrapers. On top of all that, Hiari had learned that her sister and her band had NEVER gone clubbing except for rock clubs. As someone who frequented such places as a part of her job, she was determined to take them clubbing once before she left.
Tonight was that night. She'd managed to convince Asuka and her bandmates to go clubbing with her, but on one condition. Hiari would have to go to a rock club with them tomorrow night. She wasn't the biggest fan of rock music, but it would be worth it if she got to teach a bunch of babies how to REALLY party. #rp
