It's been a while since she's fought anything, and she wasn't sure of Alex was going to make it to this fight. She always did state his jobs took priority over her own..."missions." That didn't stop her from missing the gunslinger in these moments. see what you want to see, fingertips wrapped around my heart She had this one, for now, all to herself. She crouched, took a deep breath, and awaited the dangers lurking above. The opposition remained steadfast, wanting to catch her off guard. Living a dichotomy of mother and nigh-assassin was wearing on her. I know yours is a wondering kind, cold blood when it opens and closes But the job was important. Another step closer to an end. A light that never would come. I'm a sickness inside your mind, and nothing can bleed when I'm frozen The first chunk of earth flew at her, and she leaped, planted herself on it, and jumped again. The next few came for her at once, and she dipped between, kicked off of one, and arched backwards over the second. Just in time to avoid the third, and with a spin she'd kick off of it. Can you feel me shivering, A growl from above proved she was doing it right. She still had it. She was still deadly. In the corners of your heart? And it scared her. A flash of Camille painted into her vision, and if it wasn't for the loud woosh of the next obstacle, she'd have been hit. Instead, she remembered something her own mother had taught her. Just a frozen memory to remind you of who we were

"Remember. You are dangerous on your own. You are the sword. The arrow. The poison. But all of that is nothing if you have nothing to protect. "So, my daughter, what do you have to protect?"

All this time I burned alive till you found someone else. "My...family..." she'd grunted out, eyes focusing once more. She landed on the last object and...with a deep breath...focus. Focus. She may not have the powers of the night sky anymore, but she was still a vampire. A creature of shadows. So every time you think of me... She opened her blood-red eyes and smiled. It was an evil smile. A lustful smile. Blood smelled...sweet. Can you feel me shivering The opponent didn't see it at first, but she wasn't alone. She was one, but of one stood many. Of many stood few, and of few remained just the one. She lunged, and vanished. Then from all sides, all at once, the opponent was hit. From above. Below. Beside. Front. Back. Right. Back front leftbackfrontlefttopbottom- The opponent's last sight was the battle scythe falling down. The many had spoken, the few had whispered, the one had enforced. All with a smile that bore deep. "Mom, stop!" The scythe hit nothingness, and Rosa's eyes snapped open. She was sitting on the porch of their home, Camille stood beside her with tears in her eyes. Rosa's foreleg was bleeding... when had that happened? Then she saw the blade across the porch. "A...blood lust..." she whispered. It was all a dream...but in that dream, it was real. Wasn't it? "Where are you going?" Camille simply hugged her before trotting off. "I'm getting dad..." She was a creature of habit, after all, and the Blood Lusts were getting worse.

View MoreTHWACK The loud sound of wood splitting could be heard echoing through the surrounding forest that enclosed the secluded, cozy looking home that sat alone with a trail of smoke flowing up from its chimney. The trees that surrounded the home were swaying gently with the breeze, the air cool and refreshing. Prying the axe blade free from the chopping block, Alexander rested the wooden handle over his shoulder as he picked up another block and set it down in the centre of the block. He had been home for the recent couple of days to be with his family and prepare their home for the approaching cold seasons. He had been spending a lot of time on the road as of late, sinking himself into his work which was evident by the bandaging he wore over his hooves. He was grateful to finally slow down a bit, even for a moment to just lick his wounds. <span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">Lowering the axe, he eyed up his target before hoisting it up and over his head, coming straight down onto the log. He let the blade do the work, cleaving through the log and sending both halves toppling off the block and onto the ground where they joined the previous piece he had cut. </span> Leaning the axe up against the block, the raven maned stallion leaned down and picked up the chunks of wood, placing them into the near full carrier bag that sat nearby. He stacked them neatly before he folded the bag together and hoisted it up off the ground with ease. He seemed even more driven and dedicated to his training and staying strong these days, ever since they had Camille. He carried the bag back inside their home, entering through the back as he brought it over to the fireplace. He set the bag down and opened it up, pulling out two logs before he opened up their fireplace and tossed them in. He took a moment to sit by and soak up the lovely warmth, his chin lifting as his ear perked up when he heard commotion outside on the porch, specifically coming from Camille. Shutting the fireplace, Alexander stood tall and turned, pacing away from it. He began down the hallway and towards the front door. “Camille? Rosa?” He’d call to each of them, slowing to a halt when he found Camille trotting his way. It didn’t take long for him to be able to tell by her body language and expression something was off… “Something wrong? I just finished up outside and swore I heard you..” He took a step closer to her, glancing her up and down to see if she was hurt if any way.

Her mother had seemed to zone out, but it was something she'd never seen before. Her fangs were glistening, and she was panting openly. Drool falling from her tongue and teeth. But that wasn't what scared her the most. What really it her hard was what Rosa was doing to her leg. She had a dagger in her foreleg, and was continuing to push down on it. Drawing blood that began soaking her leg. Poor Camille's heart beat hard in her chest as she began pacing back and forth. What should she do? She had been trained on some fighting so far, at this point, but not on this type of thing! Then, she acted. She suddenly stood up on her hind legs, planting her front hooves on the chair, and wrenched the knife away with her teeth, sending it across the porch. "M-mom! Mom! Stop it! Mom, Stop!" She stepped back and shivered, staring up at her mother as she seemed to wake from it, but her panting remained. Rosa mentioned something of a blood lust. For Camille, she wasn't a vampire, at least she didn't think she was. So this was something way outside of field of expertise. Instead, she figured her dad did. "I'm getting dad... please...s-stay here and put pressure on that!" When Rosa didn't respond, she forced Rosa to pressure on it. It was like positioning a puppet. She trotted into the house, opening the door with a bit extra force as she entered. Her eyes looked up in time to see her dad, tears glistening at the edges of her vision as she shivered. "D-dad! M-mom, she...she...I don't know what was happening! I-I went onto the porch and she was...was...drooling and panting... a-and..." She stopped, whimpering as she jumped forward and hugged tightly onto his foreleg. "Sh-she had a dagger and was pushing it into her arm! I-I...I don't understand why! I woke her up and she said something about a Blood Lust!" Her ears pinned back against her head. "I removed the knife but the bleeding didn't stop. I think I made it worse! I didn't know...I..." The poor filly didn't know how else to go on and buried her muzzle into him and whimpered.

View MoreSeeing the tears glistening in his daughters eyes made his normally cold and stoic gaze soften with worry and concern written all over his face. He took a step forward before lowering himself, embracing her as she flung herself tightly around his foreleg. He listened to her struggle through an explanation of what happened, only once letting his icy blue eyes stray from her to glance towards the open doorway leading onto the porch as she mentioned a blood lust. Wrapping his free arm tightly around her he gave her a big squeeze, his free hoof combing slowly through her mane as she buried her muzzle into him. “It’s okay. I’m here now, Camille. You did what you could...” He’d lean down and press a gentle kiss to her head before he’d slowly pull away, just enough to softly swipe away some of the tears on her face. He feared the longer he waited the more damage would be done. With the knife pulled out the wound could bleed freely, something he reminded himself to teach Camille afterwards, but now was hardly the time to harp on her over such a thing. “I’ll take care of her. Can you fetch me the medical supplies from the bathroom? In the cupboard, just above the sink.” He spoke clearly and calmly in hopes it rubbed off on the young filly, not wanting her to panic any further in such a stressful situation for her. He carried on past her and down the short remaining length of the hallway before him, stepping out into the cool air as he stepped onto the wooden porch. His eyes landed on Rosa, slowly circling to step into her sight. He glanced her up and down before he met her gaze, speaking up. “Rosa? What’s going on, darling?” His eyes lowered from her crimson gaze to stare down upon the bloodied wound she clutched, watching as the thin trails of crimson fluid slowly flowed, a few drops splattering against the wooden planks below. “You here with me?” He asked, looking back into her eyes as he slowly extended a hoof to gently take her bleeding forearm. “Let me patch you up and we can have a talk. Deal?”

View MoreCamille's ears flicked against her head as she gave a nod to the command given to her. She'd waste no time trotting into the bathroom, and looking up at the sink. She was small, and it meant jumping her flying up to the cupboard. She spread her wings, and with a flap and jump, she'd flip up onto the edge of the sink with ease. All she had to do was keep her balance. Easy, right? Rosa looked up to Alex, her maw slowly shutting as she swallowed the growing saliva in her maw. She didn't answer, and to him the look in her eyes would seem...hollow. Like the energy that was once there had faded away. She may have never explained a Blood Lust to him before, but maybe it would be time to do that soon. For many reasons, beyond just scaring their daughter to death and inflicting wounds on herself. Speaking of, they weren't healing nearly as fast as they normally would. From the look alone, it was obvious that she was healing like a normal pony. Camille slowly opened the cupboard, and instantly lowered her head in annoyance. There was plenty of natural herbs, her favorite toothpaste, and a bunch of other supplies she'd never seen used. All except for the gauze, from the one time she hurt her leg. Well, her mom's leg was hurt too! But, Camille only had a scrape, her mom has a cut! A big one! "Think, Camille, think..."

"Very good, Camille," Rosa smiled, brushing a gentle hoof through her mane. "You see, sewing is powerful when used right. The way you stitched up your doll-" "Plush!" "Er, right, your plush's leg is just like dressing a wound. Clean it, make sure there's no severe internal damage, and stitch it up. Though, just loops for that." "Woah... But, plushes don't...bleed?" "Of course not, Mouse! But, it's a place to start."

Camille gasped, grabbing a suture kit, and the bandages at once, before jumping from the sink and hovering out of the bathroom. Rosa bit down hard on her teeth as she stared at Alex. She needed to drink. She MUST drink! Blood. Blood is life. The answer. The world lives in it. It's... No. No, she can't do that. Because she must keep control. With a slow inhale, she finally spoke. "Alex. I need...packet from under the bed." She spoke slowly, drawn out, and showed how much focus she had to hold. To keep herself from tearing into something, or someone. "I am not...safe. It's that...or I will indulge," the last word escaped her like a low, angry growl. The type of anger that was usually reserved for enemies.
