Tality

Tality catches the unmistakable scent of something from her nightmares, and follows it out of curiosity. She comes upon Hawk and looks the red pony up and down. "Huh. You look like s***. I thought Luna was supposed to protect ponies from stuff like ..." she gestures at him vaguely, "...this."

There was real urgency in that voice, a very real warning, and had she felt she was in any danger, she would have fled immediately. But she didn't flee. Tality didn't like other ponies knowing what she really was, for many very good reasons. Many of those reasons she had to bury herself, and often, before they even reached adulthood. When ponies realize they can't come after you, they start coming after your family. She first checked the dream realm, an act for her as simple as opening her eyes on the other side. She smelled something that reminded her of the deeper parts of the dream realm, under the lucidsphere, from the bottom of the well? Beyond the blue sea? One of the things left behind by a passing leviathan? Was it Dreamweaver? Or it could have been coming from the pony themselves. Unfortunately, while Tality had been a dreamwalker for quite some time, she was new to her expanded senses, and didn't quite know what it was. But she summoned the orbs as Dreamweaver had taught her, and iterated through their functions in an attempt to discover what was assailing this pony. It wasn't really a scent anyway, but it wasn't something you could see or touch, and for some reason, sniffing the air seemed to make it easier to sense. The dream realm was just kind of like that. Metaphors had power. Sometimes. As she was a dreamwalker that couldn't sleep, her waking body remained functional, and continued to take slow steps away from the pony, keeping her distance. Given the circumstances, she elected to slightly accelerate her metabolism so she could take advantage of her parallel cognitive track. It wasn't intended for simultaneous dreamwalking, but it worked like a charm. She worked through the steps to prepare her body for an adrenaline dump, putting her full capability on a hair trigger. Unfortunately, almost all of Tality's power was focused inward. Maimed alicorn or not, she was an earth pony to her core. Always had been, always would be. And aside from the power that was her birthright, her stunted horn had to be sealed away or it would simply accumulate power until it killed her. The mare of the apocalypse continued to take cautious steps backward as she searched for a clue to the stallion's malady. Perhaps it was some kind of hellspawn, some hybrid being. Or perhaps it was simply dreamrot, the consequence of not sleeping and accumulating nightmares for an extended period of time. Both of these things would be new to Tality, but even if she couldn't help Hawk, she wanted to at least gather data she could reference later. Every scrap of knowledge had been hard-fought for, and she was desperate to never be trapped in her little apocalyptic corner of the multiverse again. She had to master dreamwalking, in this lifetime, and any source of knowledge was worth the risk.

View MoreIt was as if he was a boxer in the ring, his face bruised and lip busted to bleed down his chin and neck onto the ground as he took the hits as if they were nothing but play slaps, though these were great slashes and clawings from nigh totally invisible things. He fought back as he stood his ground, grabbing something seemingly not there and moving as if he just ripped a huge piece of paper in half with all his raw brute strength. "Wrrrrrraaaaaauuughhhh!" he roared out ferociously. Now appearing to apparently toss said ripped pieces aside like a used paper plate. Blood seeped from underneath the eyepatch over his right eye as he fought, a glimpse of it caught as he looked to his right to see something coming, bracing himself before he mysteriously was catapulted suddenly from where he stood and into a tree to the left of the mare's perspective. He crashed into it with a loud cracking thud, with him only bouncing off it and colliding to the ground, half already on the verge of unconsciousness already, something within him kept him going. From within him, the mare may also sense something similar within him as well, as if it was like that of a flame that attracted moths. He swung and missed, threw strikes and kicks that stopped mid-air like there was something there, slashes and stabs with his weapon also released foul stenches and sensations of something sinister in the air. "..R-r.." he spoke up between labored heaves, "Run!" he exclaimed as much as he could wheeze out, "Or die here with me!" He did not want her to stay, yet he did. He knew nothing of this stranger, only that he saw a pony in a place where ponies should not be. For ponies were far too soft and meek, too innocent and unaffiliated with his curse. He struggled with unknown things, and for all anypony could know, this crimson pony could be a bit coocoo for all they care in his opinion, yet this mare came out of the woodwork amidst this incident. He knew ponies were..slow and dense most of the times in certain things, but some were seemingly completely ignorant on such dangers, until it would come to pass that they prove themselves far more capable than even he was in his prime. His own dreams were but a mere reflection of the truth within this unknown pegasus flailing about in the forest like some madstallion. But his movements were very deliberate, even if executed solely on instinct and reactions alone, he exhibited signs of a well-trained and unimaginably seasoned warrior. Within the mind of this pony, were knowings of things far beyond most pony understandings. When the incorporeal merges into the corporeal, the Divide of the realms weakens, and bridges across worlds form. One becomes the other, the other becomes one, both become indistinguishable to the point where one may forget both entirely, and consider the coalescence as something entirely new and unfounded. This stallion has lived in this state for untold years, becoming his life.

It did not work, his pure focus and determination during his fight only let him kick a hind leg straight through hers like a straw going straight through a 2x4 in tornado winds. This stallion was quite unlike any typical stallions in the lands.
