Not a sound to be heard for miles except for the soft crunch of Asuka's hoofsteps. In the midst of the snow, and concrete Asuak felt overwhelmingly alone. Just a few hours before when she had first entered the city she could feel Lunae with her. She hadn't been thinking about Lunae up until now. Now that she was thinking about him, she realized she couldn't feel him anymore. The thought of her being completely alone in this abandoned city unnerved Asuka. The thought that if something were to happen to her, no one would be around to help, and no one would ever know. She didn't want to believe that would happen, but she knew it was a possibility. While making her way through what she believes may have been a suburb Asuka spots a house with it's front door smashed in. Against her better judgement she opts to investigate, and heads into the house. The interior of the house is coated in a light layer of dust, with most of the floor covered in snow. Asuka trudges her way through the house, finding little of interest besides a few old photos of a young mare. Some show her by herself, others show her with other young mares, one with what looked to be her parents, another with a young stallion, and a few with her holding a foal. Each photo sent a shiver down Asuka's spine. They reminded her that people used to live here. People with lives, friends, and families just like her. People who likely nobody remembers. Upon entering what looked to be a home office Asuka finds an old laptop sitting on a wooden desk. It's covered in a light layer of dust, but otherwise seems useable. With a few small shakes Asuka gets most of the dust off of the laptop, and picks up the laptop's charger. Though she's doubtful, Asuka decides to head towards the garage to see if she might be able to find any sort of backup generator, or backup power supply she could use to charge the laptop. To her surprise, Asuka manages to find a small generator inside the garage, as well as a can of gasoline. Though the gasoline had likely expired by now, Asuka decides to try using it to start up the generator anyway. A few seconds of pouring, and many, MANY flipped switches later the generator begins to sputter to life. Wasting no time, Asuka sets the laptop on a bench in the garage, and plugs the charger into a wall socket. She waits patiently to find a light turn on the side of the laptop. She boots the laptop up, waits around 5 minutes for it to get to the login screen, and selects the first account on the laptop. Surprisingly, it isn't password protected, and she's able to get in with no issues. Asuka roots around the laptop's files for a few minutes, trying to see if she can maybe find some sort of draft or message that might have some insight into what exactly happened here. Though she does not find any text files with relevant information she does find a folder labeled "Baby Camera Footage" Curious, she selects the folder, and finds about 10 videos inside. Clicking through the first 8 shows them to be mundane. The 9th however, is different. The screen is black, and though the audio isn't great Asuka can hear muffled sounds from what she believes might be outside. She can't quite make out the sounds, but they certainly don't sound like anything you'd normally hear. It almost sounds like a sort of stampede of some kind. Asuka can then hear the sound of a foal crying, followed by a door opening, and a panicked mare speaking in a hushed tone. "It's okay sweetie. It's okay. Mommy's here. Mommy's here." There's a thud from above the camera. She hears the woman surpress a gasp as she begins to quietly sing. "Hush little baby don't say a word. Momma's gonna buy you a mocking bird. And if that bird don't sing. Momma's gonna buy you a-" There's a crash from outside the room the camera is in, and the mare suppresses another gasp. Clack. Clack. Clack. Scritch. Scritch. Asuka can hear the mare beginning to hyperventilate. CRASH The mare screams, followed by what sounds like the cry of an elk, mixed with a monstrous growl. The video then ends. Wasting no time, Asuka opens the 10th video. It opens to a black screen, and a foal crying with no other sounds to be heard. The video appears to be 4 hours long, and clicking through it shows that almost all 4 hours are just a black screen, and a crying foal. After the video ends, Asuka slumps against the wall next to her. She removes her goggles to wipe tears out of her eyes, and snot from her nose. She needed a minute to recompose herself before she continued. #rp
