With the shop closed up all that was left to do was go home, and hopefully steal a kiss from his wife before Kisho went to bed. She'd told him she would be in bed early tonight thanks to a big case she was working on tomorrow, but if he was quick enough he might be able to catch her just before she lies down.
The walk home tonight is cold, but pleasant regardless.
As Kisho approaches his house he can see that the living room light has been left on for him, as always. He prepares his best, sweetest smile for his wife before he inserts his key into the door to unlock it.
Kisho gingerly pushes the door inward, and just as gently closes it. Just in case his wife was already asleep. He removes his shoes at the door, and neatly places them to the side for tomorrow before he makes his way to the living room.
He's surprised to find his wife sitting on the couch in her nightgown. One look at her face tells him that she's distraught, but he won't know why until he asks. Before Kisho can even open his mouth Betty stands, and makes her way to him, wrapping him in a rather tight hug. "Oh Kisho. I-" Betty gasps. Her breath is shaky, and her body is trembling ever so slightly. Kisho caresses the back of her head gently as he speaks softly. "It's okay koibito. I'm here. What's wrong?"
"I-. I just had an awful dream. A-Auska- I-." The more she tries to speak, the more she chokes up. Kisho utters a quiet "shhhh" as he places her head on his chest, and plants a kiss atop her forehead.
While in the embrace something else catches Kisho's attention. He can hear the voice of his eldest daughter cry out for help, but only for a brief moment. Following this, Kisho tightens his hug, lowers his head, and closes his eyes.
Together, Betty and Kisho pray fervently for the safety of their eldest daughter. They don't know what they would do if they were never able to see her again. #rp
