View MoreIt's been over a week since Lord Ridgewell II promised the people he'd have the Cairex dead, but he's yet to so much as see the beast. It's far more intelligent than he, or any of his party had thought, and trying to track it in the dense swamp is proving far too difficult. This morning, a family living on the outskirts of the town was attacked by the beast. Of the 2 parents, and 4 children, only the family's newborn managed to survive. The beast had already left by the time help had arrived. Ol' Mad Bill shouts to a crowd, gathered in Moorsville's town square. Many of the townspeople are armed with makeshift weapons, old rifles, and clubs. One man even carries a double barreled shotgun. The mayor sits in his office, as his staff hurriedly barricade it. The sheriff and his remaining deputy fortify the inside of the town hall as they prepare for a firefight. They'd tried to disperse the crowd earlier, but all that accomplished was getting a deputy killed. "An' whut's this 'Lord' dun so far?! He said 'eed have the dern thing killt over a week ago, an' we he ain't so much as said he's seen the dern thing!" Old Mad Bill roars. The crowd answers in kind. "Ah say we hunt the dern thing ourselves! Before it destroys ah'r town, an' eats us all!" Lord Amadeus Ridgewell II, and his hunting party return Moorsville after yet another unsuccessful hunt. The moment they notice the crowd, Lord Amadeus approaches them all. Ol Mad Bill spots the lord approaching, and points to him, malice in his eyes. "Speak ah tha devil, n' he shall appear!" As the crowd turns to watch Amadeus, he clears his throat, and raises his voice. "Good people of Moorsville. I implore you to please remain calm! I assure my my hunting party and I are conducting extensive research into the beast! Once we are able to identify it's hunting patterns, we will best be able to apprehend, and slay it!" "Lies!" A townsperson cries from the crowd. "How can we trust you?!" Another screams. "Yeah!" More agree. "The time fer 'research' is looooong past Mr. 'Lord'." Ol Mad Bill sneers. "It's time fer action! If we don't do sumthin' now, we're like tah loose ah'r town! We kill the beast now, 'er it kills us! We're hutnin' the beast ourselves, since ya'll can't seem tah find the dern thing!" "Please, reconsider! We value your safety above all else!" Amadeus responds. "The beast is highly intelligent, and will likely-!" He's cut off as the crowd shouts back at him. They agree with Bill. "Weeeellll Mr. Big Lord. If ya'll care so much about ah'r safety, then how's about ya'll join us on our hunt tomorrow? Then we'll see how much ya'll reall care 'bout our safety! 'Er maybe ya'll will just turn tail tuh save yer own hides!" With few other options that would prevent a riot, Amadeus gives a slow nod. "Very well. I ask only that you give us the night to prepare." This appears to appease the crowd. It's enough to keep them from trying to kill the mayor for tonight, but if tomorrow's hunt doesn't go well, there will likely be a riot regardless. Amadeus only hopes this hunt doesn't cause more harm than it does good. #rp
