Warning for light blood, profanity

The tinkling of glass falling across the floor. Specs of sparkling blood shimmering against the floor through the falling shards and mist of glass. Laying on the floor was a single bat, glowing gently with the vines of magic embedded along the end and barrel, up towards the grip where it faded away. Across from it sat a pegasus, wings sagging weakly behind her, arms limp to the floor, and a single item laying within her hand. Sunshine from outside, bathing her through the destroyed window, and sending a crisp shine through her body. The object resting in her hand, once a crown, now a husk with a broken gem. The soul it once concealed freed...but long since gone. A dead orb rolled across the counter, whispers of words spoken from its soul-trap that'd been lost for a long time. Decaying into nothingness. The trapped twins within now at home, and waiting earnestly with their eldest sister for their Princess to return. A cough, weak and masked with the bleeding of a maw, cheeks streaked in tears and body on the verge of collapse. Desperation for survival weakened, hope dwindled, and love once strong cascaded by a final search. A small whimper somber under the roaring laughter of a spiteful beast. A crowned warlord with an army of shadowed ghosts. He was saying something, something about pity; weakness. The roar of laughter seemingly endless. Mocking of losing track. Of not knowing where red had gone, and how blue would survive alone. The bat slowly rolled towards the other open hand of the pegasus. She wasn't alone. Not yet. Gripping the bat, weakly standing, and using the sports equipment to keep herself upright. The wind blew in through the broken window, her head leaned up as the mane and feathers around her neck whipped gently. She screamed, throwing the beast off guard. The bat made connection with the pitch, the ball exploded from the energy, and a wave of energy brighter than the sun made its way across the world. The pegasus blown backwards and into the far wall, sliding down as her weak, rattling breath remained. She squeezed the bat close to her chest, leaned her head back and look through the open shop window. It was over. It was all over. She'd done it- no, they'd done it. The only thing she had left, the only energy remaining in her body was to give a final word. A final spite to spit at the destroyed beast. "Fuck. You." The Queen was coming home.
