For the law offices of Ya... View MoreWith Thanksgiving over, Ponyville returns to it's usual daily life. Well, sort of. It's still Fall Break, so the children aren't in school. Otherwise, it's business as usual. For the law offices of Yakushi and Friends, that means dealing with stubborn companies that don't want to compensate injured workers. Their most recent case in particular being a really annoying one. A warehouse worker for a Winston's Arcane Technologies warehouse in Ponyville was injured when one of their machines, designed by the owner of the company, Winston Dreamglow, mind you, malfunctioned, and hit him with it's stored magical energy. With the extent of his injuries, he could end up with a VERY substantial payment that could include the equivalent of the company's usual retirement package. Of course, W.A.T does NOT want to pay out tens of thousands, to possibly MILLIONS of bits to an injured worker. As such, their legal team has been deploying ever shady legal tactic they can to slow things down, and try to force the injured employee to take a much smaller settlement. This morning, lead partner of Yakushi and Friends, Betty Yakushi, woke up to a legal notice from W.A.T claiming that a piece of paperwork they'd been requesting for the past month was finally found, and ready. Except, this is only a day before it needs to be submitted to court, and somehow, they're avoiding having to do it themselves. W.A.T is demanding Yakushi and Friends pick it up today, or it will be archived. Worse yet, W.A.T is headquartered in Vanhoover. W.A.T probably thinks they've just won themselves a minor legal victory. Little do they know, Betty keeps the best courier in Ponyville around for just such an occasion. He's got a knack for making incredibly long distance deliveries in impossibly short amounts of time. A folder with credentials, and legal documents is slipped into Nar's satchel. In the office of his mother, Betty, he, his mother, and her client sit. After a briefing on the situation, Nar readily agreed to pick up the documents from W.A.T, and have them delivered before the end of the day. As Nar stands to leave, he turns to the injured client, and gives him a confident smirk. "Don't you worry my guy. I'll have these documents back here before you know it!" The worker smiles a relieved smile, sticking out his good hand for a shake. "I can't thank you enough Mr. Nar!" At this, Nar lets out a short chuckle. "Anything to help you guys, and get back at that doucheba-." Nar is cut off by a shout from his mother. "Language, young man!" "Right." Nar coughs. "Sorry." As Nar stands to leave, his mother rises with him. "You be careful Nar! I know how prone you are to getting into trouble with those doors you use to get around!" Nar gives his mother a nod, only to pause momentarily as she leans over her desk to kiss his cheek. "I mean it!" She emphasizes. Nar gives another nod, then turns to the injured client. As he pulls his goggles down over his eyes with his magic, he gives the client a mock salute, then turns to leave the office. As the door begins to close, Nar lifts his arm to wipe his cheek, only to hear his mother shout. "Don't you wipe my kisses off mister!" He does so anyway. Before she can exit her office to scold him, he ducks out of the building, and hurries down the street. Once he's far enough away, Nar slips on his rollerblades, and slips his earbuds into his ears. He puts on his 'urgent delivery' playlist, then heads down an alleyway. At the end of the alley stands a blue door with a golden knob, and a glowing white star in the middle of the top panel. It looks horribly out of place. Regardless, Nar swings the door open, and hops into the threshold of light beyond, beginning his skate through the Astral Highway System, all the way to Vanhoover.
