View MoreFlashing lights, blaring alarms, and the reek of death fill the air. Adrenaline pumps through every vein in Nar's body, giving his legs strength to carry him as he skates down an endless corridor at breakneck speeds. A cacophony of growls, roars, moans, and groans follows behind, never growing distant. Faster! FASTER! Need to get some distance! Against his better judgement, Nar looks over his shoulders to get a look at the creatures chasing him. His heart stops for a moment, but it's not due to the sheer number of monstrosities behind him. It's because of what, no WHO'S at it's head. Seeming to simply glide along the air at the front of the mob is a mare with gray fur, and long, black hair that covers one of her eyes. Leading this pack of abominations, Aki calls out to Nar, beckoning him to come to her. Her voice is sweet in a very sickly way. Each word simply poison, honeyed to mask it. She promises him love, affection, and safety if he just comes to her. Hell no! Faster! C'mon! FASTER! One of Nar's skates catches on something, and he tumbles to the ground with a sickening crack of his right arm. A cry of pain exits his lungs, but it's drowned out by the alarms, and the monsters approaching from behind. Nar begins to push himself up. Desperation outweighing the pain. As he stands, he looks to his left. He locks eyes with another pair that stare back at him with fear. From within a small cubby in the wall, Amy silently pleads with Nar to help her. Nar begins to extend his hand, but pauses to look over his shoulders. The monsters are closing in quickly. Just as Amy begins to reach out her hand, Nar takes of dawn the hallway. He doesn't dare look over his shoulder. "I love you!" Amy's shout quickly becomes a scream of horror, and agony. She's been taken by the horde. He tries to block it out, but for some reason, her screams cut through all of the noise. Nar clasps his left hand over his ear, and scream in an attempt to block out hers, but it simply doesn't work. Ahead, a figure stands motionless amidst a corridor of light. Nar reaches his left arm out in hopes he'll be able to grab hold of her. The figure reaches her own arm out. At the same time, she appears to float towards him. Like an angel come to deliver a lost soul from it's torment. Nar's arm extends as far as it possibly can. He calls out a name, but the noise drowns it out. He calls out again. A desperate cry, swallowed by the onrushing horde. The figure is now so close that Nar can see his reflection in her glasses. Something grabs hold on Nar's leg. He falls forward, fingers brushing the figure's hand. She closes her hand, but it's too late. Nar screams as he is dragged into a black, hateful void. "Papa!" A tearful shout snaps Nar awake. He shoots up in his bed to find Cookie sat on his bed, tightly clutching his arm. She seems to be shaking quite badly. Drenched in sweat, Nar takes deep breaths to calm himself. After a moment, he pulls Cookie onto his lap for a gentle hug. She places her head on his chest, only managing to squeak out a shaky "Don't cry papa. Don't cry." Nar lifts his right arm, thankful to find it's not broken. With it, he gently strokes Cookie's hair, trying to calm her down, alongside himself. "It's okay Pumpkin. Papa just had a bad dream is all." There, in the early hours of the morning, Father and daughter hold each other for comfort until sleep takes them once more. #rp
