Espec... View MoreHow does one cope with the revelation that the life they're living is a lie? How does the equestrian mind keep itself from unraveling when it knows deep down that it does not belong where it is? Especially when this lie you live is someone else's truth. These are the questions Nar has been battling since he remembered. At first, the memories came to him in bits and pieces. An outside force working against him to shove the memories back into the recesses of his mind. To keep him content with this lie. Despite this, Nar has begun to claw back the memories of the life he lived. One where he is not the owner of his father's restaurant. One where his father is not only still alive, but a loving grandparent. He remembers where he is supposed to be. The family he's left behind, and the light they brought to his life. Yet, to those around him now, Nar has always been here. He has always been Amy's husband, and father to Kishi. Owner of Yakushisoba, and local friendly face. Nar wants to return to the life he's supposed to be living, but if he leaves this one behind will the people here suffer, just as those back where he belongs surely are now? Nar's thoughts are dashed by the feeling of a soft hand on his shoulder. The voice of his cousin, Asuka, is soft, and full of concern beside him. "You okay big guy? You're looking kind of out of it." The older cousin only manages a breathy "I'm good." This is not enough to convince the retired paramedic. Instantly, her other hand comes to rest upon his back. "Go take a break. You've been working too hard lately." Nar can't even find the words to protest. He's shoved out of the kitchen, has his apron forcibly removed, and is directed to a booth by his cousin. Once sat at the booth, Asuka brings Nar a glass of water to drink, and heads to the kitchen to ask the crew to whip him up something to eat. His mind races with thoughts, all fighting to come to the forefront. So jumbled are his thoughts, that no one train of thought can form. Leaving Nar sat in quiet confusion in his booth. The sound of the restaurant's door bell ringing causes Nar to react with an instinctual "Welcome in." When he finally thinks to see the new customer, his mind goes blank from the shock at what he sees. "Guess who's back from an expedition!" A larger earth pony stallion calls out with a big, beaming smile. Behind him, a slender unicorn mare follows him as he strolls over to Nar's booth to slide into the seat across from him. It takes a moment, but finally, Nar is able to gather his thoughts. "Hey! Austin! Willow!" Nar's cheerful greeting cuts through his fog. He's so overjoyed to see his old friends again, that he almost forgets about his situation for a moment. Then, he recalls the words Austin said when he entered. They just came back from an expedition. Likely in the AHS. Maybe... Maybe he could tell them about his situation. They'd be more inclined to believe him than anyone else would. They should know how strange the AHS is. Granted, Nar has no idea if what happened to him is a result of the AHS or not, but he's fairly certain it at least has SOMETHING to do with all this. He'll have to see if he can speak Austin, and Willow in private sometime soon. Lest he sound like a madman, and end up in a psych ward because someone else overheard him, #rp
