View More"These "unrefined twats" saw Commander Atom so much that it broke 400 million bits at the box office AND is getting a sequel next summer along with an animated spinoff series. But uhh..." The nerd, oblivious towards Gray's patronizing language towards him, leaned closer, as if to relish in a cloistral secret. "The new series... the spinoff... it's gone WOKE! I can tell it immediately... I mean, this is a Captain Atom show we're talking about, and they're giving Comet Trail, some non-binary bat pony, a lead role!?! I mean, just disgraceful; Back in the days of the comics, we'd have--" Barney broke from his Kubrick stare, now fully unable to tolerate this absolute hulking idiot any longer. While Gray could only muster a bit of whine fitting for some slices of thick, European cheese, Barney was both on-the-clock and a bit less humorous. He'd been eavesdropping, wondering if he could ever make it as an actor. He could put on faces... but in terms of reading lines? Actually BEING somebody else? There was no hope for him. General sanitation was all that would fit him. "Excuse me, sir-" Barney interrupted, tapping a hoof on the nerd's shoulder, causing him to spin around in this chair which was apparently a little swivel stool because I said so. "Christi Bucket is doing signings over on 5th avenue at the Headman's book store. I-I couldn't help overhear you're a fan of Commander Atom, and wondered if--" This time BARNEY was interrupted by the nerd springing out of his seat, practically frothing at the mouth. "YOU'RE A LIFESAVER! I'VE SEEN ALL HER MOVIES, I NEED HER IN PERSON! SHE'S SO HOT, DUDE!" As the nerd stormed out of the venue, practically gooning already, it left an awkward silence between Barney and this actor. "I'm... I'm sorry about him. I think a-a lot of people shut their brains off and take art for granted. For... for what it's worth, I-I really thought you were great in that production by P.T. Ponyson.
