It's the night before the big race. Today, Nar has forgone his practice, in favor of resting. So, one would think he'd have gone to bed early to be well rested for the next day. Well, that had been th... View MoreIt's the night before the big race. Today, Nar has forgone his practice, in favor of resting. So, one would think he'd have gone to bed early to be well rested for the next day. Well, that had been the plan, but here Nar was, now a full 2 hours past when he'd planned to go to sleep, still lying wide awake in his bed. Well, that was probably to be expected. After all, Nar loved skating, so he'd naturally be excited for a race revolving around it, right? Normally, yes, but tonight, that wasn't the case. A dark cloud looms over Nar's thoughts as he desperately tries to close his eyes, and sleep. A cloud filled with anxiety, and self-doubt. The stakes of the race hadn't really hit him until now. If they lose this race, Attack on Mango is done. They'll have to disband, never to re-form. Even worse is that if that happens, it will all be his fault. Nar was the one who issued the skate race as a challenge, and no doubt his band is banking on him winning the race for them. It's do, or die, and Nar is the best shot the band has at staying alive. After tossing, and turning amongst his now sweat soaked sheets for nearly an hour, Nar finally rises from his bed. Restlessly, he shuffles out of his room, into the house's basement studio, then up the stairs to the main floor. Everyone else has gone to bed, leaving him alone at such a late hour of the night. As quietly as possible, Nar shuffles over to the fridge, gingerly opens it, and grabs a bottle of water from within. He closes the door just as carefully as he'd opened it, then shuffles to the couch in the living room to sit. For the next few minutes, Nar sits in silence while taking small sips of water from time to time. He stares out of the house's front window to look out into the quiet street, before his gaze fixes on the moon. In that moment, he offers up a short prayer to the king that tomorrow, he won't fuck up, and ruin the thing that brings his friends so much joy. Afterwards, Nar places the half-full bottle on the coffee table in front of the couch, and slowly begins to drift off into sleep. #rp
