Had an old off site RP partner message me. We matched RP styles, even though they were in an opposite timezone, so I was willing to try it out.
Backstory is, we started an RP.
Got only a few posts into the starter, and they suddenly disappeared for a month. Messaged them, no response. They were completely offline. Never heard from them again, so I just moved on with new RP partners and new characters.
Today, they message me out of the blue after I post one of my ads.
They explain to me that they got into quite the hot water at their job a month ago, and it soured their mood, and just didn't tell me that something was going on where they would need their space. They apologized, saying that not telling me was their fault, and asked if I'd be open to RP again.
I get it. Stuff happens, and that stuff happening can affect other things. It happens to me.
Something small like ''bad stuff irl going on, be back later'' would have led me to wait for them. The situation burned that bridge though, and I decided to not pursue another RP.

i'll probably name her something along the lines of Frostweave, mabye with the last name of Sorrelis
when the full image comes out, i'll redaw her to give her a better mane/tail and refine the concept

His cutie mark was gained when he learned that he had the ability to hear spells when they were performed. Not the aura, which is always audible to anyone, but the name of the spell!
He thought that this was totally normal until he brought it up to his parents when he was younger and then they realized that that is definitely not something that should happen.
So for example if someone is casting or about to cast teleportation on themselves to go somewhere, he can hear that the teleportation spell is being performed as if it were the audible aura of a normal spell. It's heard in a radius around him, and this applies to all spells and objects that can perform spells, like a diviners orb, or a staff. This also works for spells that are not performed near him but the spell ends up near him like if someone is teleporting to land around him. It sounds like Google maps in his head, essentially.
Example 2: thaumaturgy's teleporting home, where he also happens to be. He would hear the spell, not when it is performed as thaumaturgy would be in an entirely different location, but right before he's inside the house, after the spell is performed.
This sounds overpowered at first until you realize that he can't turn it off and he's hearing various spells around him all the time, every single time. He can also hear his own spells, so when he's at home or outside he has to wear earmuffs.
Because it's something that he can perceive that other beings normally wouldn't be able to, it doesn't deafen him, but can be very overwhelming, very fast, and it can block out other sounds. He learned to tune it out, but otherwise it's something that is a constant circumstance around him.

Acer is a natural born alicorn, from Recantare (a unicorn) and Sugarbush (a pegasus). There's nothing particularly special about them, though they're more skilled in flight vs magic.

I feel like he's at a really good spot right now and unfortunately I'm no longer interested in role playing as him.
However I did get an idea of doing like a 20-year-ish time skip in his story and his families stories, and play as one of his potential kids!
If anyone doesn't mind making potential next gens with me, or don't mind me buying/trading art for one of your characters that you may not be using to have as this next gen's other parent, feel free to come plan it out with me!
