The smell of cheap alcohol, cigarette smoke, and fresh wood varnish mixes in the air of Vanhoover's premier rock club. Well, it wasn't exactly it's biggest, or most well known, but it was popular among those in Vanhoover's rock scene. Mainly because of the cheap booze, and the fact that staff didn't care if you smoked inside or not. Asuka and her bandmates are seated at a table just behind the dance floor with a plate of cheese fries in between them. Juno was already a few drinks in, and Nar was just starting, but Asuka simply had a can of Coke. The opening act had just finished, and now they were waiting to see who the main act was. "So. Who do you guys think this mystery act is?" Nar ponders before taking a few sips of his drink. "Probably the Thunder Dudes. Heard they play here pretty often." Juno responds as he tips back his own bottle. "Yeah, that sounds about right. They're getting to be pretty known these days. Deserve the attention too. Super underrated band." Nar responds with a nod. Asuka simply listens without any input. She didn't keep up with the city's music scene like they did. When the lights dim, all eyes turn towards the stage. There's a brief flash of lights on the stage before the venue goes completely dark. This is followed by the stage speakers blaring with the sound of multiple voices singing in unison. https://youtu.be/HiHvo7gNQbw (Yes. I'm using Dragonforce music for this. They're a good band.) The crowd immediately erupts into cheers louder than any she's ever heard before. Asuka hears Juno spit out his drink, and Nar cough a few times as it seems some drink went down the wrong pipe. Asuka is confused as to why they were both so shocked. When the stage lights come on, she sees a band of 5 half-dragon hybrids on stage, each with an outfit centered around a specific color. The lead guitarist/vocalist has a red, spiked mane, and appears to be wearing an outfit she can only describe as 'Bootleg Red Riot'. The stallion to his left appears to be a backup guitarist wearing a green dress suit with the sleeves ripped off. To the vocalist's right is a mare with a sparkling blue dress that has a few rips with everything just below her flank having been torn off. To her right is a stallion who appears to be the bassist. It's hard to tell what he's wearing as he appears to have been chained to the stage. In the very back, Asuka can just barely make out what looks to be a 10 year old behind the drums with wild, unkempt, white hair. "What the FUCK?" Nar finally manages to stammer out a few words. Asuka looks to him with one of her eyebrows raised. "What's with you dorks? Have you not heard a power metal band before?" Juno shakes his head before clarifying. "Asuka, that's Dragonautica. The NEW #1 band in Vanhoover. They took over practically the moment we dropped off the charts, and they're more than twice as popular as we were at our peak." This causes Asuka to blink a few times. Noww that she's thinking about it, she has been seeing their merch, posters, and even a billboard with them on it quite a lot recently. She had no idea they were so popular. None of the three say a word for the rest of the night, but Asuka knows they're all thinking the same thing. If they want any chance at regaining their popularity, they're going to have to work their asses off. #rp
