12 PM, Central Park, Ponyville Despite the blanket of snow over the town, a crowd gathers in the park for the opening of Ponyville's Hearth's Warming village. Booths sit all across the park with vend... View More12 PM, Central Park, Ponyville Despite the blanket of snow over the town, a crowd gathers in the park for the opening of Ponyville's Hearth's Warming village. Booths sit all across the park with vendors preparing to sell food, clothes, and other holiday wares. One booth by the frozen pond is selling rental ice skates, while another nearby has little smores kits for the fire pits dotted across the park. At the center of it all, creatures crowd around the park's amphitheater. Most in the park are wrapped in comfy winter coats. Complete with winter gloves, hats, and boots. Atop the stage of the amphitheater, protected by a large awning, Attack on Mango checks their sound gear, and instruments. Compared to the crowd, most of the band seems quite underdressed for the cold. Despite that, they don't so much as sniffle. At the front, Nar rocks a 'Vacation Santa' outfit. Complete with santa pants, black, golden buckled boots, santa hat, bushy beard, and a red hawiian shirt with a simple, white long sleeve shirt underneath. Behind him, Juno stands in a perfect 'Buddy the Elf' costume. Beside him, Scrappy stands at her keyboard in full winter wear. Thick parka, earmuffs, thick beanie, woolen gloves, two pairs of pants, and snow boots. Behind them all, Asuka sits in a reindeer onesie, complete with LED red noise. She's running on 4 hours of sleep, and 2 pots of coffee. No amount of holiday cheer can remove the bags from her eyes, or the frown from her face. She tries to smile, but her cheeks feel far too heavy. At the front of the crowd, Betty, and Kisho stand with their granddaughter, Cookie, and youngest daughter, Hiari. All eager for the festivities to start! Thankfully for them, that's exactly what the mayor is coming on stage to do! Nar steps aside to allow the mayor to use his microphone. She clears her throat, then in the cheeriest voice she can muster, she greets the crowd. The mayor goes on a short spiel about 'Hearth's Warming cheer', and 'the spirit of the holiday', that Nar finds touching, if a little corny, and obviously scripted. Once the speech is over, she introduces the band, and hurries off stage to get back to her warm office. Once Nar regains control of his microphone, he steps up to it, a bright smile on his lips. "I know you guys are all eager to grab some hot cocoa, and get to the fire pits, so we'll make this quick! Hope this gets you all in the holiday mood!" Nar then whips his arm back to point at Scrappy, who eagerly begins the band's opening song. (https://youtu.be/EPJnTM509NM?si=Rzp9e3ryBKwDvzbC Why yes, I do re-use this song every year.) The sounds of festive chiptune rock fill the park. On the stage, Nar, and Juno dance around. The bell at the end of Juno's hat jingling wildly with his movements. Nar keeps hitting himself in the back of the head with the puffball at the end of his. Regardless, the two jump, twist, and dance all across the stage as they play. A quarter of the way through, Nar heads to the edge of the stage. His horn begins to glow as he uses his magic to continue playing. He kneels down, and leans over the edge of the stage, reaching out his arms. A second later, he pulls Cookie up onto the stage with him. There, she dances around the stage with her papa, as he returns to playing his bass normally. Cookie remains on stage for the rest of the band's set. Dancing, and singing along to the songs she knows. Nar even lowers his microphone so she can sing into it! At the end of their set, the band helps pack away all their equipment before meeting up in front of the stage. By now, most of the crowd has dispersed, leaving Kisho, Betty, and Hiari to greet the band. The group converse for a few moments before an agreement is made. Time to grab some hot cocoa, and hit a fire pit! #rp
