Before th... View MoreAnother Tuesday means another visit to Shifty Sai's for Attack on Mango. While Juno, Ruby, and Deena stand by the front door, ready to leave, they wait for Asuka to return from the basement. Before they left, she wanted to check on Nar, and make sure he'd be okay at home on his own. Everyone else was down to just stay home today, but Asuka insisted. Two sets of footsteps can be heard coming up the stairs. To the band's surprise, Asuka emerges from the basement with her brother close behind her. Juno smirks smugly as he holds an open hand out to Ruby. "Told you." She grunts, then reaches into her purse to hand him 5 bits. As the two approach, Juno claps Nar's shoulder, and beams a smile. "Feelin' better, big man?" Nar nods, and smiles back at him. "Yep. Just needed some time to process some things. Think it's about time I get back into the swing of things." After a short walk, and a tram ride, the band finds themselves sat in their regular booth at Shifty Sai's. After ordering their drinks, the restaurant's owner, Artuo, approaches the table. Before any greetings are given, Artuo reaches over to grab Nar's hand in his. "Nar! My friend! I'm so glad to see you again!" He then leans over the table to give Nar a hug. Nar smiles back. "It's good to see you too, Artuo." Artuo then stands, and turns to a server, approaching with drinks. "Whatever they order is free today." Nar waves a hand dismissively. "Aww, c'mon Artuo. We've got more than enough money to pay for our food." Artuo shakes his head fervently. "No no no! I insist! You went missing for 2 months! I was so worried! I want to show you how glad I am that you're back!" Nar chuckles. "Alright. Fine." After receiving their drinks, and ordering their food, the band settles in for some conversation while they wait. Juno takes a sip of his drink before starting. "So. Now that Nar's out and about again, I think we should celebrate. With more than just some Shifty Sai's." The others nod in agreement. "What about a party at Steve's bar? Just friends and family?" Asuka proposes, and the others nod in agreement once more. "I'll call Steve after we're done here then, and see if we can't get the bar rented out or something." After the unanimous agreement, Juno decides to shift the conversation topic. "So, Nar. Is there anything that happened while you were in that door that you'd be willing to talk about?" Asuka shoots him a glare, but he just gives her an apologetic smile. "Well..." Nar begins, and everyone leans in to listen. "A lot of stuff, but I don't want to get into most of it." Everyone begins to lean back again. "But, on my way out, I did come across a little girl, all on her own." Everyone leans back in again. "After we got out together, I took her to the police station. I called them up yesterday to see how things were going, and well... Turns out, she might end up going into the system. Her mother... I saw what happened to her. Her father was killed by a drunk driver earlier this year, and the only remaining family she has either refuses to take her in, or is willing, but physically incapable. Her paternal grandfather apparently was willing, but he lives in an assisted living home, so he's not eligible to take her in." The table goes quiet. After a few seconds of silence, Nar speaks up again. "So... I was thinking about adopting her myself. I don't know how good of a father I'd be, but I feel like I could give her a better life than what she might get if she went into the system." At this, Asuka seems to melt. She wraps an arm around her brother. "That's incredibly sweet of you Nar, but do you really think with the direction the band is going, you'll have the time to raise a kid?" Nar shrugs. "Hey, I'm sure I could find a good balance. I'll probably have to give up my freelance courier gig, but it's not like I needed it anyway." Asuka pats his chest. "Let's think about it a bit before you make any decisions okay?" Nar nods. "I gotcha. Just putting that out there for you guys." #rp
