View MoreInside room 4 of the Snowy Oaks retirement home's hospice wing, an old stallion lays in a hospital bed, watching one of his favorite shows. Chocolate Chunk Cookie knows his time on this earth is coming to an end very soon, but he has made peace with that fact. His only regret in life is that he could not ensure a happy life for his granddaughter before his death. He knows he will die alone, but perhaps... It would be better that way. A knock on the door turns Chunk's attention away from his television. The door opens, and the face of his nurse peeks into the room. "Mr. Cookie, you have some visitors." The door opens fully, and a young man now stands in the doorway, carrying... His granddaughter! Chunk's face lights up as the young man approaches. He opens his arms, and in turn, his granddaughter opens her own as she excitedly squeals "Grampa!" Chunk wraps his granddaughter, Sugar in a hug as the young man lets her down onto his bed. The two hug as Chunk's eyes fixate on the young man, who simply gives him a warm smile. "Hey Mr. Chunk." He sticks out a hand, which Chunk takes in a shake. "My name is Nar. I-" Before he can continue, Chunk cuts him off. "You must be my granddaughter's foster guardian." At this, Nar sheepishly chuckles, before correcting him. "Actually... I'm her father." Chunk's eyes widen. An overwhelming warmth fills his heart, and he grips Nar's hand with both of his, squeezing it as tight as he can. Tears begin to stream down the old stallion's face. He barely manages to croak out a "Thank you" before he enters a fit of quiet sobbing. "Don't cry Grampa!" Little Sugar Cookie pouts as she grabs a tissue from the bedside table, and tries to dry his eyes. Nar allows Chunk to hold his hand for as long as he needs, while Cookie hugs her grandpa, and dries his tears. Once Chunk has gotten all of his tears out, he bids Nar to sit, so the two can talk. For the next two hours, the three sit, and talk. Chunk tells Nar about Sugar's biological parents, and what they were like. Her father, his son, was a beloved local baker, and her mother, his daughter-in-law, was an adventurer. He tells Nar stories of his son's childhood, and what he remembers of him as a father. In turn, Nar tells Chunk about his own family. He tells him about his sister, and his bandmates. He tells him about his own grandparents, and his parents. At the end of the visitation, as Nar scoops up Sugar to leave, Chunk feels at peace, knowing his granddaughter will grow up with a loving family. Later that night, Chocolate Chunk Cookie passes away in his sleep with a pleasant smile on his lips. #rp
