Nar peers over ... View MoreAll around Nar is ceaseless, uncaring void. He clings tightly to the stone rubble that keeps him from falling into it. A shockwave ripples through the void, and his heart skips a beat. Nar peers over the side of the stone, and sees his first love, Amy, hanging on below. Words are muffled in his ears. Amy's grip falters, and she slips away into the void. Nar is forced to watch. Helpless, and unable to do anything to save her. "I love you!" Her voice cries out. Nar begins to scream. Amy's mouth continues to move, despite her eyes having glazed over, and her body ceasing movement. "I love you!" However, this time, he doesn't hear Amy's voice. Instead, it's- Nar lets out a gasp as he jolts awake. As he begins to come to, he takes in his surroundings. He's in his bed at home. Aki lays beside him, looking up at him with her face awash with worry. She appears to have been stroking his arm, but has stopped. In a shaky whisper, she asks "Are you okay?" Nar takes a deep breath, then releases it in a sigh. "Yeah, just... Recurring nightmare. I'm used to it." Aki's frown deepens. "Would... Would you like to talk about it?" Nar considers just saying "I'm fine." and going back to bed, but then he remembers something Asuka told him. Something she yelled at him with tears in her eyes. "You can't keep bottling your feelings up like this Nar! One day, they're going to be too much for you! People do terrible things when that happens! I don't want to lose you because of that!" So, Nar tells Aki about the dream. About how it actually happened. How the memory haunts him. Then, she asks about Amy specifically. Her voice contains a mixture of worry, and curiosity. Then, it all just starts coming out. Nar can't stop himself as he begins to tell Aki about everything. About the Adventure Club, the Northern Adventurer's League, the E.S.E.E, all of his friends from it, about their expedition into the fifth layer. He tells her of the wailing thing that took them. He tells her of Amy, of their time they spent together, of how he thought they'd eventually settle down, and start a family. He tells her of how they met again, how he lost her again, and how he freed his friends from the wailing thing. By the end, Nar has broken down. His words come between wracking sobs, and heaving breaths. 'I fucked up. I said to much. Aki will probably just wait until the morning, then leave, and never come back. She can't handle this.' Then, Nar feels Aki's face press deep into his chest, and he feels a wet spot form on his shirt. Aki begins to repeatedly whisper. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry." To Nar's surprise, Aki isn't uncomfortable, or disgusted by his weakness. She's actually crying WITH him. Crying for him. She clings to him tightly, as if some unseen force meant to take him from her. In turn, Nar wraps her in a hug of his own. There, the two cry in each other's arms until the tears dry up, and exhaustion takes hold. The next morning, Asuka comes down to fetch the two for breakfast, and finds Aki laid atop her boyfriend, wrapped in a tight embrace. #rp
